I don't mind watching him win, as I'm one of those who can appreciate his style - but honestly there is always the intrigue of whether the unthinkable might happen whenever he faces a puncher. :yep It would be exciting.
He's behind guys like Sweet pea, Ped, Sadler and armstrong in my opinion. His skill is there but most of his ability comes from have incredible reflexes and talent. He pulls back when he's not suppose to, yet he's able to get away with it due to his incredible god given gifts.....and a lot of hard work in his preparations.
Yep. We're past the point where anybody can reasonably be favored to hurt Floyd (let alone stop him) - but, they do fight the fights for a reason. Anything can happen.
Real talk...which is why he needs to step up and face Manny. He can definitly beat Manny, but Manny has just a good a shot at taking his undefeated record away if they do fight. Boxing is a sport where anything can and will happen.
Fair point. I just didn't want to make a simple win/lose poll. When you watch Floyd though what do you want the outcome to be?
People watch him because we live in an age of Marketing. Same reason people were forced to watch Roy Jones on HBO fight Police Officers and why we had to watch Floyd pay JM 600,000 to make sure he had a big weight advantage and fight a pre determined event. If there was no 24/7 or Floyd soundbites and HBO sweating his nuts like they did to Roy how popular would he be and people would laugh at his opponents. Still nobody can explain how he avoided every single fan favorite opponent.
In hopes that someone will beat him. I do not deny his 'greatness.' The man is legend is his own time. Its his F&cking mouth and the words that come out of it, that I have a problem with. Dont get me wrong. Im down with sh*t talking... But to place yourself in the same light with Ali, Robinson, ect... Give me a break...
Why wouldnt you want to watch Mayweather? Its like watching Jordan, Magic or Barry Sanders in their respective sports? Men who have perfected their abilities. Mayweather is one of those guys you almost forget how good he is until you see him fight live again. Then its like "Oh yeah, I remember now" I mean he makes ATG's like Marquez and Mosley look average.
I think this is why a lot of people watch him. He's brilliant in portraying himself as a villain in order to promote his fights. The other reason so many people watch him is simple, he's the best boxer out there and has never lost (and I'm not trying to start the Pac/Floyd debate). Any athlete that is best at there sport almost always gets viewers. That's why Lebron, Kobe, Manning, Messi, Ronaldo, Woods, Federer ect. get so much attention and so many viewers. When you're the best at your sport people want to watch you. Besides that, I just find him incredibly entertaining in a way that few other boxers are. His pure boxing ability is second to none. His slickness and defensive ability combined with his punch accuracy is amazing and I don't see how anyone can deny that. I mean prior to the second round of the Mosley fight, I can't recall ever seeing him hurt from a punch (he was knocked off balance by Judah but he wasn't hurt) and I can't think of any other boxer in history that I can say that about. Though there may be instances that he was hurt none come to mind. Any true boxing fan who appreciates the art of hitting and not getting hit has to find Floyd entertaining.
Most of the time I'm rooting for Floyd b/c I like to WIN....:yep But if Manny and Floyd ever fight I'm rooting for Manny. B/c I like to win :yep Not that Floyd CAN'T beat the Pinoy phenom, but based on his actions leading up to this potential fight I see A LOT of signs indicating he's a little too concerned. ANd with Floyd who is partly as good or GREAT as he is due to his confidence, that's a HUGE indication that we might see Floyd with the number "1" under his "LOSS" column for the first time.
