If Lucian Bute is not the IBF Champ, then neither was Lacy and neither was Joe!

So Bute beating the guy who KTFO Vanderpool, Mack and Stieglitz does not validate Bute's title but Lacy beating the same Vanderpool + Sheika, Williams and Reid somehow does? am I reading this right?

I think Bute is the true and only IBF champion.

Calzaghe is of course without a doubt the undisputed 168lbs champion.

But he gave up the belt to fight a bum instead of his mandatory challenger. He lost his hold has the IBF champion right there and then. He didnt avoid his undefeated mandatory challenger to fight Kessler, Hopkins or Taylor. He dropped to belt to fight freakin Peter Manfredo Jr. for christ sake.

There is a big difference that somehow you guys don't seems to get.

Bute is IBF champ, get over it, He has zero chance of fighting Calzaghe because is just new on the seen and has no profile in USA and most of importent bring little money to the table. He time will come, If is good enough

Haven't read through the post but the big difference is that when Ottke retired then the belt became vacant. Then Lacy picked it up and then Joe beat the **** out of Lacy and then was stripped. Calzaghe did not willingly relinquish it nor has he retired.

Wrong. He willingly relinguished the IBF belt in order to be able to fight the soft Peter Manfredo Jr. instead of his 29-0-0 mandatory challenger Stieglitz.

I think Lucian Bute is the better and the most dangerous boxer out there for Joe Calzaghe...

-Ottke retired and the IBF (and WBA) title became vacant.
-The top available contenders, Lacy and Vanderpool fought for the vacant title. Lacy won.
-Calzaghe defeated Lacy. He became the champ at IBF.
-The IBF stripped him, so he didn't lost the title in the ring.
-Joe defeated Kessler --> so Joe is the legitimate SW champ, who actually stepped in the ring for all 4 titles but in different matchups and in between the IBF stripped him. But that doesn't mean anything, he is THE TRUE SW CHAMPION with or without IBF, others should be called paper champions as non of them defeated THE LEGITIMATE CHAMP to get a title.

Of course Bute stepped in and won the IBF title, so he is the champ at IBF and not Calzaghe. Like Mundine is the "regular" champ at WBA. But there's only one legitimate champ in SMW.

Of course Bute is the IBF titlelist. You cant fault the fighter for winning that belt. CLEARLY? He wasnt and still isnt THE 168 LB Champ. The entire sport is a ****ing MESS with 6 "major" titles per division(IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO, Ring, and lineal).

In reality he's a title holder, Calzaghe WAS CHAMP unless he relinquishes and moves on. If I were a Bute fan? I wouldnt be too quick too press that issue. He should take a bit of time and keep working.
Dont worry about what people say and in time the OPPORTUNITY to become CHAMP may arise.
