    Hi all,

I am looking at buying some boxing equipment this weekend.

I am keen on purchasing the life size boxing man, made in latex of about 177cm in height. I want to use this as part of boxing training and general fitness, particularly as you have a realistic target and height to aim at to throw combinations at.

However, I'm not too sure whether this is the most appropriate form of training tool for boxing.

I've been told by some mates that it might be worth getting a normal punching bag on a stand or a free standing punching bag. I don't want to hang anything from the wall.

My room is about 5.5 metres wide and 4 metres long, with plastered walls, which will also fit in a bench press and cross trainer.

Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated? Cheers.

arent floor to ceiling mainly for speed, timing techique?
heavy bags can be hit harder and are probably better for this guy for fitness purposes

note - i have floor to ceiling, speedball and a heavy bag at home but i use floor to ceiling 90% of the time as speedball is always flat and i cbf putting gloves on for heavy bag lol

Thanks guys. I'll check out the floor to ceiling balls aswell.

My only issue with a floor to ceiling was as my gym room is inside the house, with plaster walls, I'm not sure as whether I'll damage the plaster if I fix the floor to ceiling ball in the room...
