Has there ever been a time in the history of boxing for an active boxer to double as a promoter of his/their own fight? Also are there any other boxers that currently own their own promotions company?
Hatton, Haye and Golden Boy will probably push the old guard promoters out of the UK. Frank Maloney is probably the only established promoter who will survive cause he does deals with other promoters. Downside is that the fighters are too close to the negotiations. I welcome the change though if it benefits the fighters as it SEEMS.
The whole reason DLH/Mayweather sold so well is because DLH had total control of the promotional process.
On a much smaller scale, I do. I did a few shows last year in New Zealand and have one coming up in August, possibly in Idaho.
