I'm rooting for Chavez Jr because tbh, I'm a fan of Roach as a trainer and if Chavez is able to take control of a fight against Duddy, it will show that Roach in such a short period of time has already had impact on this guy. Although I know Duddy is far from an elite fighter, he is still Chavez' toughest test to date.
Haha. Good one! Seriously though. Did you watch those fights? The only one close was Medina, and he still won that by at least a round. Maybe you saw a clip of Smichet battering Duddy in one round and based your opinion on that. Or maybe you just like to call fight that isn't a complete shutout a gift if it suits your agenda. Or maybe you are just boxing illiterate. Whatever your problem is, the only fight that was close was Medina. And the right fighter on the night won (albeit, narrowly and unconvincingly)
I'm rooting for Duddy cause Chavez Jr is trying to be like his father by fighting almost like his father. I don't think i ever seen Chavez Jr use his height advantage.
i like chavez jr in this match-up duddy was comprehensively outboxed by billy lyell, a small orthodox club fighter with no pop... duddy could not get out of the way of the straight right hand lead... i expect roach to have gone over that tape carefully, and to have come up with a game plan to exploit the weaknesses that duddy showed in that fight (and also in his fights against smichet and medina, as has been mentioned in this thread)
Im rooting for JR, Im not even a big fan of his. I just have so much respect for the kids father! JCC sr is a legend in my book!!
Chavez is a fraud.........frauds need to be exposed, Duddy already has so it is "Jr.'s" turn....................
Duddy has no chance. JCC Jr is now working with the PED crew, and it's not like he was any stranger to them in the past, anyway. He's going to be on the greatest roids known to man and will probably decapitate poor Irish John within the first 90 seconds of the bout.
I want Duddy to win for the Roach/Ariza connection, but I wan't Chavez to win for the legacy and Mexican/Mexican America boxing. I am comfortably on the fence!
