Aside from his speed, I was never all that impressed with Warren, but then again, the only time I saw him fight is in the Olympics...I would imagine Rigondeaux would eat him up, though.
You got my hopes up man, I thought this thread was goona include the video! Apparently it was a very close fight, 16-18 or something like that with Rigo beating the young Warren.
He promised his mom he'd bring her home a Gold. That and he makes more money from the USOC than he would as a pro.
There is no need for him to go pro. He is getting bare sponsorships and competing at a lot higher level than he would be doing as a pro.
Each to their own, you wouldn't force that lifestyle onto anyone but when you see time is passing and his placing at the last 2 olympics, I want to see him get something.
Pretty sure he gets a monthly stipend, like Amy said; but also the USOC managed to pay him, Raynell Williams, and Michael Hunter pretty good money to convince them to stay amateur for 2012.
