Erm i suggest you get your damn facts right, Paul is quoted as being 6.2 here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Williams_%28boxer%29 and in other places 6.3 , there's no way he's shorter than Pavlik, also we all know Kevin isn't good at throwing combinations and that would be a problem when facing the punisher, you also never mentioned the reach differences!!, i wonder why?..
yea he's got a longer reach, Williams is a freak for being a ww, but he isn't taller than Pavlik and Pavlik is good at throwing combinations, I dunno where you get that from. Williams would be punished, plain and simple.
You "don't know where i got that from"?.. atsch i got it from watching his fights especially the last two where his only plan was throwing the left hand jab followed by the big right, that's all he did in the Taylor fight (and Jermain stupidly left his left hand down) and that simply wouldn't work against Williams, ask Margo , no matter what you say the reach would play a massive part as Paul wouldn't need to engage with Pavlik, couple that with the southpaw stance and his movement then it spells trouble, not to mention Paul also has the speed advantage too, as i said it would be a nightmare for Pavlik stylistically, and for the last time Pavlik is not taller than Williams.. :hi:
nah he doesnt posess enough power for the middleweights to respect him they would walk him down like Margo did eating his pitter patter shots. If Margo started faster in the fight he would have won the fight.
Did you happen to see the combination that ended the fight? You are also forgetting to mention that Williams has no defense, his defense is his freakishly high offensive output. Williams got hit with some super slow Maragarito punches (but did show a good chin) Pavlik landed some tremendous combinations in the Miranda fight as well. You have to be kidding me if your going to say the guy's only offense is his 1-2 jab/straight right. Taylor thought that and look what happened to him. BTW... Pavlik took 16 straight power punches from Taylor and knocked him out, took numerous flush shots from Miranda and knocked him out, he would NEVER get hurt by Williams... KO for Pavlik and you could take that to the bank
Did you see the last round of that fight?, Williams completely shut Margo down even though Margo knew he needed that round so this "if he started faster" thing is a myth, he got beat by the better man.
That combination was one in a million, and it only came when Taylor wasn't defending himself, where were the others?, he never used any combinations until the end and as i said all he did was jab then throw the right hand and because Jermain got lazy he fell victim to it, a smarter fighter like Willaims makes Pavlik pay for it via his punch output, speed and angles he finds with his shots, and by the way since when was power the only thing needed to win a fight?.. Paul could take this on points there's no question about it, and i wouldn't bet against Williams developing more power as he goes up in weight.
you've never even seen more than 1 Pavlik fight. Pavlik and Williams are about the same height. And if Margarito can land / stun Williams, you'd better believe Pavlik, who is taller, stronger, better and punches harder than Margarito will hurt Williams.
actually Margo didnt know he needed the round if you look at the end he clearly thought he would be the victor....none the less i wanted Williams to win i like him im just saying he couldnt hurt Margo so i dont believe at middle he would fair any better.
One in a million? Wow you really know how to give people credit... did you see the combo he used to take Miranda out? Who said power was the only thing you needed? Your blind if you think the only thing Pavlik brings to the table is power, most of the rounds Pavlik was out-boxing Taylor (which is something Hopkins, Wright, and Spinks had trouble doing) Manny said so himself Taylor was getting *********. Did you see some of the shots Margo landed on Paul at 147? Williams would never be able to withstand that against Pavlik. I know Williams is tall but he is not big at all, he would look very weak in there with Pavlik. You think he could gain 13 lbs of muscle and keep the same punch output? Enough about this match up its stupid and Williams would get badly hurt and ktfo, he would never take it. All that said I still think he could become undisputed champ at 147. The guy is an absolute monster at that weight and he throws so many punches that anyone of the champs would have a very hard time. I would give Cotto the best shot against him because with Williams, thats ALOT of body to go after... Enough about a fight
Yeah of course "Pavlik was winning most of the rounds".. and he wasn't on wobble street doing the chicken noodle soup in the 2nd round .. he was clearly losing the fight up until the ko, and the judges seem to agree too, your bias blinds you of the facts, fighters can make the move up and get even better i.e Pac, Mosely and even the great Maywether who if you've forgotten has moved way up in weight and is POUND FOR POUND NUMBER ONE, there's no doubt Paul can emulate those i named because of his fantastic boxing skills, movement and reach, Pavlik imo is one dimensional, are you really implying that the man has good boxing skills?, the man doesn't move, has no head movement and his punches are slow, if you take away his power punches what exactly has he got?.. there's no way he would have beaten Taylor without the power.
At the end of the day Williams has a tough chin, he may have took one shot in the fight against Margo but he was never in any trouble, Pavlik on the other hand was all over the ring in the 2nd round against a guy who hadn't knocked anyone down in years!! , as i said Paul's style would give Pavlik nightmares.
Alo we've agreed on things in the past why you fronting bro? :yep , i think the kid Williams can do a Mayweather and be a force in the higher weights due to his impressive skills man!!.. power isn't everything and Floyd is proving that everytime he steps in the ring.
