Peter is one of my favorite fighters, so the fight meant a little more to me than the average fan. It was an exciting fight, that Peter was able to battle back and win in the end.

    1. Marquez-Vasquez 2
    2. Barrera-Marquez (how are people forgetting about this>
    3. Taylor-Pavlik

All big fights that more than lived up to the hype. After that, I think there were a bunch of great fights, but I can't rank them and these are the clear top 3.

I can't believe how many people are mentioning yesterday's Contender match as the #1 fight. Maybe I like technical brawls between elite fighters way more than all out brawls between B level fighters, but still I don't think it deserves to be near #1 at all. That opening round was amazing though.

Especially Valuev vs Chagaev.. that was boring as hell. Valuev's lack of killer instinct makes nearly all of his fights boring.

If Katsidis/Earl is your number 3, then Bika/Codrington should be higher than that.. unless you are biased toward Katsidis.

Nah. There was more drama, it was on a bigger stage (i.e. actually for a regional belt, not a made up TV one), there was a bit more actual boxing involved, it was a bit less sloppy and there was less lag in the action. Bika/Codrington just crossed the line on the sloppiness factor for me. Round 1 was great, but a lot of the later rounds were just torture to watch.
