amen...people forget about both fighters past and relish on the present far too much...

Ledwaba....showed Pac's greatness....why...because most people dont even know he only had a couple weeks notice and he DOMINATED the champ.

Sas like you said first major tittle and was a classic fight..and as i recall Sas hit him with some GREAT counters and it was one of those fights were you could see Pac was just an animal....the KO was brutal.

also thought Larios and Solis were great wins as well.

He was the underdog against Corrales.

The difference being one was undefeated and the other a champion at a weight he'd never fought as high as before, where as the other beat both when they were clearly in decline from what Mayweather faced (even Roach admits this) and neither bothered fighting again.

Pacquiao was the favourite it the first fight, I'll have a look around and see if I can see the odds for the rematch.

Here's the odds for the second fight, same odds for both fighters so they thought there wasn't much in it but he wasn't the underdog.

    4 not 13

They were of equal size. Genaro was a huge SFW.

Genaro is definitely not one of his top5 wins. When Nelson, Leija, Ruelas, Molina, Gatti, Patterson and other TOP10 ranked boxers where fighting and beating each other he was defending his WBA title against low-level opposition.

People people people.....There is no fight where Emanuel became "a great boxer"!!!!!He never became a good boxer! He still is not an average boxer and should never be referred to as a boxer!!!Look at the thread title again!!!!!.....Mike Tyson and Rocky Marciano were not great boxers, and never even became good boxers!!Emanuel is not a boxer.......Face it,he is a brawler. This thread is bull.Emanuel is not a boxer, period.
Floyd's best boxing performances are every fight he ever fought. He boxes no matter what, and it is clinical every time.He is a master boxer. You can watch the Emanuel Augustus fight and see it.You can watch the Gatti fight and see it.You can watch the Marquez fight and see it or you can watch the Angel Manfredy fight and see it.Floyd is a master boxer.A fight won't do that, great or not.Training and dedication and just as important, preference does it.Floyd,by design,is a boxer and more then a great boxer he is a master boxer.Emanuel,by design,is a brawler and a very energetic brawler. This thread stops now.

Let me clarify something for someone as bright as you think you are…

A person who competes in the sport of Boxing for a living (in contests called Boxing Matches) is referred to as a Professional Boxer.

By definition, therefore, Pacquiao is a Boxer.

The term “brawler” can be used to describe the style of certain Boxers but, in itself, does not describe the practitioner in the sport of Boxing.

    Hope this this helps.[FONT=&quot] :hi:
