I actually rewatched that round just last night, and thought the same thing. In the moment, live, it looked like May was hurt bad and things were going Mosley's way. Rewatching it, it didn't look like much. Floyd's leg buckled, but it looked worse because he pivoted at the same time, then he held on. Then Shane roughed Floyd into the ropes and threw a combo, Floyd covered up and threw a hook, Shane backed up, and Floyd went on to win the rest of the round. I think Floyd is given too much credit actually, it was written over and over that the right from Mosley was a bomb, and most fighters would have been knocked out by that. It was a good punch, but nothing special, Mosley hits fighters with rights like that all the time.
Depends who is doing the estimating. Floyd was definitely hurt. Those shots were tremendous. It took incredible presence of mind for Floyd to come back from that.
No he was Hurt Bad,thats why he held on to Mosley Immediatley But doesnt Matter Floyd spanked that ass easily the rest of the fight And i was rooting for Mosley too BADLY
IMO alot of fighters would have been knocked down from the second punch that landed on the side of the head, but not knocked out cold.
imo if pac and floyd fight pac is going to bring the best out of floyd and get his ass whipped. floyd is too conditioned and intelligent to get knocked out within 3 rounds! freddie roach knows this deep in his heart.
Void was definitely hurt from the second right hand. About two minutes into the second round you can see him walking Mosley down, and he tries to throw a signature lead right. It ends up missing as he knees buckle again. I don't know how to make those moving pictures; if anyone is interested they know where to find it.
i dont believe he was stunned or rocked in the Judah fight.....the KD was a balance issue to me..he lunged for the straight to the body and was caught off balance it dint look like anything much....was there another punch where Floyd looked as bad as the Corley/Mosley fights in the Judah fight?
Mayweather was hurt the way Hearns was hurt at times. Tommy would have his legs go but his head was clear enough to hold on and that is what happened to Floyd. Also like Tommy did Mayweather got himself together and regrouped and used boxing. The greats can do that. That is what helped Mayweather's status. The way he regrouped and boxed. Mark of a great fighter. I give him credit.
Hi guys, first post, hope all of you are well. Anyways on to the point, I am a FMJ fan and I believe that Shane did hurt Floyd but im on board with those praising Mayweathers powers of recovery, he did exactly what he had to do in the situation and showed he could take a hard hitting Mosleys best punches and not touch canvas. In terms of the Manny fight I believe that IF Manny can get Floyd in that kind of trouble he has a better chance of finishing him off than Shane due to volume of punches and energy, however I think Pac is less likely to get Mayweather in that situation than Mosley if that makes sense. Pac throws a high percentage but also misses alot, I see the fight following a similar pattern to the FMJ Hatton fight (obviously Hatton/Pac are stylistically different) but I see Pac coming forward and Mayweathers countering throughout the fight paying off late and allowing him to get thrugh the championship rounds, weathering a late Pac storm. 8-4 Mayweather. Peace!
