I dont know about the rest of you but I am through with Ring Magazine because of who they have left out of their top ten pound for pound ratings for November5 2007. How in the world could they omit Shane Mosely and instead have people like Hatton, The Marquez boys, and Cotto????? They owe Shane, Jack and Jin Mosely an apology immediately!!!! For those who dont agree that Shane belongs there now...you will after the Cotto fight. Guranteed!!!!!
Okay who the **** has Shane beat in recent times that is more significant/impressive than Hatton's wins over Tszyu and Castillo, or Marquez's over Barrera and Juarez, or Rafa Marquez's over Vazquez, or Cotto's over Judah, Urkal etc. Sure He may be a better fighter even at this stage than most of these guys, but to become top 10 you have to beat the best fighters. Collazo is good, no better, a shot Vargas times 2 is again a couple of good wins, but not enough to make you top 10. Anyway quit moaning, he is only 11 or 12 anyway and we will see whether he belongs above Cotto on Saturday.
The funniest contradiction with the P4P list is when a fighter is dropped, simply for losing to another fighter who was already ranked higher then them on the P4P list. Example, if Hatton loses to Mayweather, he will most likely be dropped a few spots or off completely......WHY? According to the list anybody Floyds size or smaller SHOULD and is EXPECTED to lose, so why shouldn't Hatton stay where he is?
After Shane beats Cotto, you may have a point. But until then, hatton can be rightfully ranked above him.
p4p fighters in the ring are to much about what they did a few years ago and do not take into consideration how they have faded or would fare against younger fighters in the divisions they currently campaign at. i think the rankings should be more fluid, and be more, what have you done for me latley, with young turk`s being given a chance , instead of waiting for the dethroning or 1 fight against a relative non entity and they are right back in there.
