MMA is not like Boxing. 12 fights in MMA is a lot of fights. It's equal to 24 fights in boxing. This guy is 12-0 all by knockout. His resume is impressive, even moreso than Lesnars. There is a real strong possibility that Lesnar could get knocked out as Lesnar is a great wrestler but mediocre striker. If the fight stays standing expect Carwin to win.

Brock Lesnar doesn't even have 10 fights under his name. He has only 5 fights. Brock Lesnar is like Mike Tyson in that he is physically the most intimidating fighter in MMA. The man has the Tyson effect.

    Prime Tyson.
God, Id love to see a prime Tyson vs some of the ufc dorks.
    Talk about a bloodbath.

Tyson would come in breaking orbitals, but Id settle to see Jt, also a pretty good puncher in his day, take out RC.

My guess is JT KO 1.

He looks the same to me, how can people say he's in shape by watching a video where he is wearing clothes and not training or doing anything.

    :hat

I'm actually kind of glad Shine III got scrapped (even though the circumstances behind it were complete bull****) - because Toney will acquit himself as a converted boxing champ better than Mayorga would have.

A faded Couture poses about the same threat to Toney that a somewhat past it Thomas would have posed to Mayorga - but Toney is taking it more seriously than Ricardo had been leading up to the star-crossed event.

    That's not true.
12 fights is still 12 fights.
That's not alot. Not even in the mma world.
But regardless - the talent pool is very shallow.
How else is it that these guys just hop on the scene and get a title fight?

Well the reason Brock got his title shot was purely financial. Carwin on the other hand earned his shot by defeating other HW contenders like Mir and Gonzaga.

I disagree.. wrestling around for 12 minutes and maybe getting hit a couple times.. isn't the same as trading blows to the head and body for 12 rounds.

12 fights in boxing is like 20 fights in mma

Toney clearly slimmed down and appears to have rededicated himself. At nearly 42 however, it remains to be seen how age has affected his conditionning and reflexes. I think that Toney will come in slightly under 220 looking fit and having lost a lot of his usual flap.

Brock said in the conference that he knew Dana was thinking of making an example of him as a WWE guy who can't do it. Dana said no, he is going to make an example of James Toney.

With the right strategy and execution, that could happen. If he maintains his range and pot shots him with big shots while defending the take down and sneaky in cheeky kicks and sub attempts then he could win.
