It wouldn't surprise me if he did which could explain the early fatigue... then again advanced age could also explain that away as well.

In any case, I think he would've gotten his ass kicked either way so IMO it's irrelevant.

Shane is 39, had two training camps almost back to back and was inactive for 16 months.

    Course he was ****ed

I love how every Floyd fan on here is denying all excuses for Shane...

"He just fought a better fighter".

Yet when it comes to Pac, these are the same people who will say, shot, past it, weight drained, too old, steroids, paid off etc.

As for the thread, its a combination of his age and Mayweather. Shane hasnt looked great recently, he beat a guy who was made for him but lets not forget, the guy went life and death with Mayorga and is 38years old, 38 and has not fought in 18 months! Still, he was a top 10 p4p fighter and rated the best WW, I dont think he would have gotten tired if he was fighting Margo again for example. The combination of Floyd's feints throwing him of, making him extra jittery and anxious, the occasion, dealing with PBF counters and his age gassed him out.

overtrained? Why cant people let a fighter have a 100% victory? Was there much excuses from the Mosley camp from the loss?

Either way I see it being the same outcome. I don't like Floyd at all but damn has he got a chin. When I watch that shot over and over, I'm amazed he didn't go down or get KTFO. I mean seriously, that's one hell of a ****ing punch. Gotta give props where due (Still dislike him).

Why is this convo coming back up, I mean really? I have answered this question a thousand time and what is over-trained, someone plz describe what over-trained is cause even tho I am not a Floyd fan I do not believe for one split second Mosley over-trained for this fight, he just got beat by the better man. If you know boxing you all should know Mosley gassing after the 2nd rd is a sign of fatigue, more than likely he was weight-drained. Answer one question for me plz. Mosley fought DLH the first time in 2000 @ 147, so what really makes you think 10 yrs later he can maintain a weight around 147? Not even a gym rat can do that. You will gain weight. Mosley is prob walking around 160-170 lbs at least. His metabolism has changed, he is not a natural WW no more. That is his fault for taking the fight at this weight limit. If he is gonna fight again he needs to do it at 54 or prob 60. I just don't think he can compete with good WW in his condition no more.

Overtrained or not, he was going to fight PBF not later than May 8 if he was able to beat Berto, no excuses please.

My thoughts exactly. Over trained, undertrained, 38 or 28 he gets beat by Floyd.

must have been the long lay off. plus age might have been a factor although i wouldn't put much weight on it. i blame the lay off.

floyd fought well, i give him credit for that. but you can't deny the fact that that wasn't the best mosley we've seen. floyd may still have won, and i'd pick him as a favorite, but it would have been more of an exciting fight if a close to prime shane showed up.

I don't think Shane over-trained, I think he was simply outclassed and gave up. I know Shane is a warrior, and he obviously has heart. However, it seems that after the second round Floyd was having such an easy time landing clean shots on him that Shane pretty much shut down and refused to exchange. Pretty early you can hear Nazim tellin shane "you're fading on me"..He could see right away that Shane was losing confidence and giving up (IMO)

Shane is a world champion, he knows how to train.
