Pac's KO% is misleading. He had like 3 or 4 KOs in his first 13 or 14 pro fights when he was just around 16 years old.

Yeah I guess it went up when he started roiding . But seriously, Manny has the upper hand here, they probably have around the same power, but it's the way they put it to use. Pac will show it alot more because of his relentless offensive style. It's much more difficult to KO someone being a defensive fighter such as Floyd.

Obviously from my avatar you know i'm a floyd fan. I do think pac has better power but not by much. The difference is pac goes for the ko, floyd doesn't. Imo floyd is just too skilled for pac. He will more than likely keep pac on the outside w/ the jab until pac gets frustrated & comes in hard. Then floyd will counter him much better than marquez did.

During the 1st encounter Pac vs Marquez, Marquez only survived the first round because of his legendary granite chin.

Mayweather is a better counter-puncher but he can be hit flush (ask Mosley) and his chin isn't as great as Marquez's.

That's why Pacquiao vs Mayweather is such an amazing match-up.

I can come up with 2 scenarios:

-Pacquiao hits thin air all night and get outboxed by Floyd

-Pacquiao throws huge bombs that land flush, and Floyd is in huge trouble (Pacquiao is a ferocious finisher)

This fight is unpredictable. SO EXCITING! :good

Actually Mayweather took, the 1st right hand on the chin just fine.

The looping right hand, hit almost right on the hear, and didn't really affect his senses, just buckled his legs for a few seconds. Neither one of the guys is going to put the other sleep.

as is usual protocol for threads that actually deal with stylistic advantages/disadvantages b/w pac and may....the most logical post is ignored. Especially by pac fans. That display showing how pac's work rate drops against an elite "boxer" is superb as is the resulting diagnosis of how mayweather is simply all wrong for pac. Only responses you'll get are...."well if its such an easy fight, why doesnt floyd sign"...completely disregarding the point of the reply. If this fight ever comes off, expect to see pac's bobble head all over the place from lead right hands ad lead left hooks. Pac will give him some trouble for 3-4 rounds and than it's over. Pac's best shot is to catch floyd with something big early on and try to finish him. Getting a decision over floyd over 12 rounds seems pretty far fetched to ask of anyone at 147.

From your title I thought you were going to list all the wrong assumptions on a possible Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. As it is, your thread title should have just read The Stupid Things People Say about Mayweather.

I agree with Benny 100%. I wouldn't necessarily say it is his skill that has improved, but the ring smarts have. I also wouldn't say the skill is deteriorating, but he has definitely had to be less jeapardous in his fights as he has moved up the weights.
