Is it that hard to understand why kessler prefight might have lied about his hand? Stating that he should never had fought had he been injured is understandable but silly.

If your a man of the working/ lower-middle class. Would you then say goodbye to, lets say 3 mill. US dollar?!

The fight showed that stylewise Calzaghe would have wonn anyways, but dont alienate yourself for normal thinking.

Its like watching somebody quit in a quizzshow and then convincing yourself you wouldn`t because you weren`t actually in the heat.

Hell I would let Calzaghe pound me for 36 min. for 3 grand....

    perhaps, i guess?!

I agree with you but it's not as simple...When Diaconu got injured, he said NO to the what was it - 450.000 USD purse ?? - a fortune for him - and shot at Champ Dawson because he knew he had to be in top form to win. Kessler must have thought that his chances to beat Calzaghe weren't substantially lower, due to that injury...I cannot believe he would have resigned himself to losing just to take the money. This makes me think Kessler's injury wasn't serious and that it didn't affect his performance to a substantial degreee. In other words, Mikkel must have thought that his chance of beating Calzaghe was still practically as good.

It just took Joe 6 rounds to realise he has the best jab in the world, bar none.

Kesslers coach Richard Olesen is quoted in a danish newspaper BT for saying that a hand injury occured 3 weeks before the fight and that effected the sparring. He is also quoted for saying that he did not think it would effect the outcome of the fight. ( The monday eddition i think)

As far as know; Kessler have only stated that he did not want to make any excuses, but he did not feel 100%.

It seems like Kessler looking for a rematch. But theres 0% chance because Joes only got a short time left and he wants a couple more names on his record.

Just saw a video clip on a Danish news media that confirms what you say. Kessler does also not believe he will get a rematch but i confident that he would win if given the chance.
He made sure that he was not finished and gennerally seemed in good spirit.:happy

I do not if i am allowed to post a link, not that it would matter to the majority of the board since it is danish.

    He lied.

He had no confidence in himself as soon as round 7 when actually in the ring with the BOAT.

He isn't slow mate. That was the fastest I'd ever seen Kessler. He is even better than I thought.
