Cotto-Mosley could be similar to that of Sanches-Gomez or Chavez-Taylor. If Cotto-Mosley is as half as good as either bout, then what a treat us fans are in for! No disrespect to Miguel or Shane, but what great times those were with Sanches, Gomez & then later on, Chavez & Taylor. Do you think Cotto-Mosley will take a similar pattern to those great bouts?
I'm just hoping for a good enjoyable fight free of controversy. I don't expect it to be like Chavez-Taylor I, and I hope it is a closer match than Sanchez-Gomez.
The styles match up perfectly for a thrilling fight. There's no way this turns into a boring fight. The only thing that might ruin it is if Cotto goes crazy with the low blows. Both fighters will be throwing bombs. Someone is going down.
I think there could be made a lot of analogies between the Sanches-Gomez as well as between the Chavez-Taylor fights and the up-coming showdown between Shane Mosley and Miguel Angel Cotto. In particular to Chavez-Taylor, brought up now by HBO homepage itself, there are similarities and I would lie if there weren't - Cotto a latino supremo body puncher with a signature left hook to the body, and Mosley a faster hands, flashy, accurate combination boxer-puncher... But let's wait a minute here folks, is that suppose to indicate something about the outcome, cause Taylor was doing a number on JCC until the Lion of Culiacan cornered him and tagged in the final 10 seconds! Shane is not supposed to get more tagged than Miguel will be so how does the comparasion stand? More useful than that and a little add to the expectation process here in ESB Forum, Lovemore NDou stood against everything that stronger Cotto threw at him and finished the fight stalking Cotto and connecting with long punches, wild looped overhand rights repeatedly and lost that IBF eliminator/WBC International title/ WBA latino title at 140 pounds ( undercard of Pacquaio-JMM at the MGM Grand, LV, NV) by scores of 115-113 ( Castellano), 116-112 (Shirley), 117-111 (Towbridge). Miguel undestood he was not stronger than the "Black Panther" and was on his back foot at the end stretch...Now I ask, is Shane Mosley less strong or less quick than NDou was at 140 lbs? No, he isn't and so I am still very ceptic whether Cotto will drive Shane back or over-power him from the onset or even down the stretch...
