Man i had a fight stopped on a nosebleed too one time. **** was streaming and dripping all over the place, next day there was still occassionally blood coming out! Sucks too lose that way, especially since it was a close fight, but hey you only got one nose right? Good luck in the future man!
My trainer usually pulls me out when they try to pull **** like that at the last moment. I hate it when he does that, i just wanna fight, but really he's right. Even though it's just the ams, it's still your brains and your health you're ****ing around with in there, everything needs to be on the up&up. It's good to have a trainer to protect you from yourself sometimes.
Definitely keep us updated on your career, was good to watch someone from ESB step between the ropes. You definitely had an unfair disadvantage in that fight which counted against you most of the time simply because he hit you before you could hit him. Fight at 140 against guys your size and I guarantee you'll have more success.
Good effort dude, the height and weight disadvantage was too much to overcome but I'm sure you'll have much more success at a lower weight class.
Ok man ill give you props and congrats on getting a fight, In the gym I used to go to I trained hard and even had a mini war with one of the most experienced lads in the gym and still havent had a fight yet haha i was tamping but your my height and around my weight so I can notice a lot of flaws in you that I see in myself. 1. Try not to jump around too much, your heavy for your height and all it does is exhaust you hence I could see you holding a lot. Stay stationary and keep a good defence : keep your right close to your face and have your lead hand 3 or 4 inches from your face instead of 6 like they usually tell you to, it gives you more power when you jab and is a little harder for you to get hit plus it can make the taller fighter fight on the inside. 2. Just cos your fighting a taller fighter dont mean you have to hit the head, chances are your gonna miss and trust ive made that mistake man. jab to the body till you get in your rhythym then fire off a few combinations on the inside and get out holding your guard up, elbows tucked in 3. When your hurt dont think **** it and swing, you aint gonna hit nothing but air. keep your hooks short and try to manouver around the ropes rather than stay in one place and for the love of god keep your guard up haha Other than that mate you got a lot of heart and for fighting someone much larger than you, you didnt give up and although your sloppy you got some potentiol. Keep posting how you get on and cant wait to see your next fight Its a shame you dont live in wales man would be great to spar someone similar to me
Im 5'10 1/2 and I fought at 147 as a pro, the max weight I fought at was 154. If your opponent pulls out and they replace him with someone much bigger you should refuse the fight. Its takes 2 to agree. You shouldnt be fighting that heavy, You have a lot of weight to lose. At your height you shouldnt be more than lightweight.
Oh, to be young and insane again. Last time I had a fight I was 6' 177, and that was when I was 25. I dropped down to 154 when i turned 32 thinking to try it again. I was mad serious. I worked with Larry Herman at UK(he happens to have been my YMCA trainer from Chi as well). He worked with me and thought I was outta my mind. I never got that 154 fight I worked so hard for. Now, Im 36, and can only dream. I have two boys though 6 and 8. I guess I could live vicariously through them GL Kid. Hope to see ya on HBO one day. But yeah. Get down to 140 147. It'd probably suit ya a bit better, and that way you might actually be able to land that jab. Which looked OK BTW.
