Mercer, in the mid 90s he had close matches with both Lewis' and Holyfield. I actually had him winning the decision against Lewis', he also beat morrison down with one of the best knockouts of the 90s.

I see Mercer getting his good jab in early, which will set up for a knockout in the 6th round. I do think it would be a competitive fight while it lasted, with Mercer getting the better of the exchanges.

Bruno would get the jab going early, and if Mercer did not fancy it, he would switch off and Bruno would win perhaps a shut out decision.

    Bruno WU10 (9-1/8-2)

If Mercer was up for it, he would come back strong in the middle rounds and perhaps stop Bruno really late; if not Mercer to win a close decision (6-4).

Over 10 rounds, I think Mercer would have lots of success early on with the jab. However, Bruno would get the jab dominating in the middle rounds, using his power to get Mercer timid. I don't think Mercer can beat Bruno with a low punch out-put; I also don't think he has the defensive skill to be aggressive and stay away from Bruno's power.

Bruno out-jabs Mercer to a UD, using his power to keep him honest and his strength to tie him up in close.

bruno outboxes mercer 4 1st half of fight but mercer comes on strong in 2nd half b4 stopping bruno in 10/11,think it would have been very entertaining fight!

Frank would outbox Mercer for 10 rounds but he might lose the fight in the 10th because of his lack of survival skills. If it was 12 rounds his stamina (not his fault )would become an issue. Mercer by late stoppage in 12 rounder, Bruno by close decision if just 10 rounds like Lewis, though i thought Mercer won that fight.

Both are heavy hitters but Mercer has the sturdier chin and steelier mindset. Skillwise they're about equal, though Bruno has the better jab.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bruno was ahead on the cards going down the final stretch but Mercer would enevitably find his way through with bombs as Frank tires. Bruno being Bruno would do his "rabbit caught in headlights" routine and the fight ends with the ref stepping in at the ropes to save a dazed Frank from further punish.

Difficult one, Mercer fell short of the very best in the division as did Bruno so this fight i would suspect will be competitive. Bruno always beat the fringe contenders..Coetzee, Ribalta, Coetzer, Williams , Ferguson, McCall etc whereas Mercer did not, he was beaten by Ferguson, twice arguably and struggled with Diamiani and an ageing Holmes but was able to push Lewis and Holyfield to the wire, though the general take is that he fell short at the highest level.
Bruno either by early stoppage or Mercer late on, i would be surprised if it went the distance, shame we didn't get to see it.

Tough fight to predict. Bruno has the length, strength and boxing ability to keep Mercer at bay, but he'd be fighting the entire fight in panic mode which would inevitably sap his energy by the mid rounds, at which point Mercer can start to come on strong. The fight then comes down to if Bruno clinch his way to the final bell to nick the decision or if Mercer can maintain the controlled but consistent aggression to put a desperately surviving Bruno away (not quite as easy to do as is often advertised).

One thing's for sure: there'd be some serious shotgun-style firepower on display in this fight.

On form Mercer stops Bruno mid rounds imo. Pick both at their best and Mercer is clearly the tougher/better fighter

Who landed more jabs against Lewis after 7 rounds because Bruno was stopped at that stage and would of gone on to land more jabs if he went the distance which was unlikely because his chin and stamina weren`t as good as Mercers.
