bro, Hamed was the same age Barrera was, actually abit younger. after the fight Hamed refers to Barrera as "the kid" when Barrera was actually older than him. Hamed was still in his prime alright, the problem was his lackadaisical work ethic in the gym and arrogance that finally did him in. simple as that. hell I was rooting for Hamed to ko Barrera, but I got shocked at the schooling MAB gave him. Hamed looked pudgier than ever and resorted to try to overpower MAB and hit behind the head and Barrera would have none of that. He was basically bullying the bully. It was pretty obvious Hamed had undertrained and was looking past Barrera in what was the biggest fight in his career. Or maybe he undertrained on purpose to use that as a scapegoat because he foresaw losing to Barrera anyways.

Remember his trademark flip before entering the ring? Well, he didn't do that in the Barrera fight. Once I saw he didn't do it, I knew something was wrong. His confidence was gone.

Hamed started to look less effective because of a step up in class.

He was always lazy, according to Johnny Nelson there were many occasions when he had to be dragged out of his house to train.

It's just something people use to shrug off the Barrera defeat - Hamed knew he'd never beat a fighter of Barrera's calibre - the proof was in the pudding, he chose not to enforce the rematch clause and instead took a year off.

As for this match - you'd have to wait and see how Lopez' career pans out..... I don't have him beating Rafa in September to be honest..... but I wouldn't have Hamed beating Rafa either.

funny thing when people say hamed wasnt prime for the barrera fight to diminish barreras acomplishment... hamed lost to barrera not because he was old over and over the hill, he lost to the better fighter plain and simple so stop this nonsense that he some how got old quick

    :hat

It isnt nonsense, if that was the best version of Hamed then it would never have turned out as it did, so why should we ignore that and pretend Barrera beat a peak Hamed when it simply isnt the case?

Barrera was a great fighter, so was Hamed but only one was anything like his best that night and thats why he won on pts.

    You'e an IDIOT.

Juan Ma has a GOOD chin, as he shown in the Mtagwa fight where he kept battling and eating Mtagwa's wild shots.

This would be a 50/50 fight.

Juanma will get better with time but Hamed depended too much on reflexes to defend himself, he was a clown and I hated him. Juanma is too big and strong at 126.
