Yes he is, and he's a bigger version of nonito and he is a better in close counter puncher than is donaire also. This guy is very good and exciting to boot. He has alot better power than his KO ratio suggests, and i would have money on him if he were to fight nonito at 118. Top 20 p4p for sure.

Now damnit, don't say that **** if not true. But if it is!!!

    :partytime

I've been waiting for montiel to be involved in a big fight at 115-118 for a long time, and this is better better than if he fought Vic at 115. Great fight!!!!!!

I really hope your right but I was under the impression that the wbo isn't recognised in Japan.

ugh..its really hard to expect much from him now

he was destroyed, his chin has been cracked, his confidence is utterly gone he looked like he wanted to a seppuku from his post-fight interview and he had the right to exercise his rematch clause with Montiel but didnt want to take it.

Its going to be hard for him to recover, hes not that young like when Khan was cracked to build up some confidence. Im rooting for him though to comeback strong.

He's out with that broken jaw, that's why there's no (immeadiate) rematch. All credit to Montiel, but Hozumi was unlucky as the actual punch that broke his jaw early wasn't really a big blow, and when that bomb landed later, it shook him through the bone. Grabbing on the ropes and offering his chin freely didn't help him either as Montiel quickly finished the job. That's tough, but it's part of the sport, and if he looks back to all the events incl. the cards as he was clearly leading, I think he can come back positively. We'll see.

Hasegawa and his camp have strongly beeen insisting the rematch with Montiel as soon as possible.
But now the match-up between Montiel and Donaire comes up. The situation doesn't look good for Hasegawa.

Well which is it? Is he lobbying for an instant rematch or is he out with a broken jaw? :blood

Bump. What the hell is going on? Anybody hear anything? Rematch? More convalescence? Still staying at bantamweight? FMJ's next opponent? What?

I hope Hasegawa recovers well, dude has serious skills and is very exciting to watch. He was giving my boy Montiel some hell before Montiel finished him off...Hopefully they'll rematch sometime.
