Saying Manny will submit to Drug Testing up until 14 days of the fight is NOT Random. And if Arum is worried about Floyd not fighting with Roger in the corner, then why push for November when you know the court date is in August? Lastly I just read about some type of NON COMMENT clause. Can someone in the next 13 hours explain this to me and why it applies to the Mayweather camp when the Top Rank camp seems to be running off at the mouth to the media about Floyd not wanting to fight. All this seems like a very smart way for Arum to make Pac come out on top if Floyd refuses to sign the contract. They will call him a coward even though Pac pulled the same move with the whole 24 day and I wanna be a politician thing. the contract probably is 50-50 and 14 days cut-off. it would only be a **** contract for floyd if pac gets the bigger share or he did not get his 14 days term.
No way of knowing what's in the contract. That's related to your second question, which i'm assuming you mean the Gag Order placed on them as far as not negotiating through the media. Top Rank constantly yapping doens't necessarily constitute negotiating through the media, they've been talking **** as usual but not saying what is or isn't in the contract. Really, they haven't said much of anything different than the first go around. I think a fact that people are overlooking is that GBP's whole purpose in this matter is to get Floyd a contract with the things he wants in it. I don't think they would have sent him a contract if they weren't capable of doing so. And yea, it's random. From the day the contracts are signed to 2 weeks before the fight, they can be randomly tested for blood and urine samples can be done at absolutely any time. Ideally speaking, say Floyd signs. They start training say...early to mid August. From beginning of August to November 13th, that gives a good 3 months of random testing that can be done with Blood being stopped 14 days beforehand. Urine can be tested an unlimited amount of times. That's a pretty big window of testing and Urine can still be taken at any time in the 14 days leading up to the fight. I absolutely feel that's reasonable if blood is merely a screener for something like EPO and urine can confirm it. But that's just me.
You think you're clever but you actually have no idea what random means. "Random" testing can be performed between any two arbitrary dates. It doesn't matter if it's 14 days before the fight or the day of the fight or 14 days AFTER the fight. The ending date is just the cutoff period. The period between the start date and the cutoff date is the random testing period. If you write a function in a programming language that will give you a number between 1 and 10, it's just as random as telling it to give you a number between 1 and 50. Get it? (let's forget about the fact that "random" drug testing and "random" number generation aren't truly random processes. That's a different topic.)
I am not sure, but i think i read somewhere that a computer can't give a genuine "random number." I think it was in a video poker book.
Yeah, this is what I'm wondering as well. According to Dan Rafael, Al Haymon took a final proposal to Floyd (one which supposedley Haymon was ok with) but Floyd has yet to respond.
That's right. It's pseudorandom. The computer actually gets the number from it's timer, I believe. There is no known way to generate a sequence of truly random numbers.
