If Nuz had taken 1 or 2 more rounds, we would have seen a robbery there. As it was I had no problems with Hatton getting the win, he deserved it more although my card was even, he was the better fighter for most of the fight. But cards like that leave a bitter taste in the mouth, it's something we see far too often.
The Magic matt hatton express chugs on world title here we come if its in the Northwest i might even go
Hatton ''tbh the knockdown didn't hurt...just flash really. I couldn't get up for da fight you know..err..i just had to come in and do a job. I thought i boxed well but i know Matt Hatton's better then that. I need to big fights now and Ricky knows that. Tonight was me just putting out a statement to all the Champions...Matt Hatton's coming for you!!!''
I should have accounted for Friday Night Fights judging bloopers. Still Hatton shaded it in my opinion but those score-cards were seriously strange. Well done for Matthew Hatton though, I can't wait till he faces anyone with a bit of hand-speed and power. He's in an absolutely horribly strong division and with that suspect chin, I think we'll be seeing a Hatton on the canvas again.
I think he deserved the win overall, despite the wideness of the scorecards. Can't knock him tonight...he came back from a horrible start and he found a way to win. He obviously works hard to achieve better but he is obviously nowhere near world level.
Its totally irrelevant whether a fight is judged a UD, MD, or SD its the number of points inbetween the 2 fighters on the 3 cards thats the issue. If tonights fight was carded a SD of 117-110, 116-111 Hatton and a third card of 117-110 Nuz would that be better judging than a UD for Hatton with 1 and 2 margins on all the cards? The problem with tonights judges was the score totals, not the fact it wasn't a split decision.
