Last night was the first time Ive seen Quigg and I have to say he looked phenomenal, making Reid miss with everything, moving perfectly and throwing really sharp punches. Obviously he will have to come through tougher tests but I can really see him dominating at world level in the near future.

He looked good. didn't see early rounds because Sky cut the fight so so short. Didn't like when he was on back foot and squared up with head down. But he did some nice things and showed he can dig in and turn on the style. Promising Prospect.

He is very strong and will do very well been promoted by Ricky Hatton...:yep

I am struggling to see why he has many people so far who don't like him...:huh

I went to his last fight at Bury Leisure Centre, he shifted some tickets, it was a great atmosphere...:yep

I am defo on the Scott Quigg Express when it leaves town, he will do very well...:deal

We didn't see the first 6 rounds, so its pretty tough to make a full analysis of his performance. Good news is that in his first 10 rounder he was fresh enough in the 9th round to get the stoppage. That should give him great confidence knowing he can do some rounds.

Get another 10 rounder in and then he can challenge the winner of Hughes-Marsh for the title. Still a tremendous prospect IMO.

Its not a case of not liking him, he's class- but Carl is better. I think he's got a lot going for him but i'm not totally convinced just yet. Reid has been beaten far more convincingly by less hyped opposition.

I was impressed but it would have been nice to see more of the fight.

He looks like a Muay Thai fighter to me..... square on, elbows not tucked in.

Can just tell he wants to boot his opponent into submission

I'm impressed with him, stick him in with a Matthew Marsh and see what happens.

its weird because back in the day, every muaythai trainer i'd been with told me to keep my elbows tucked in.

as for the stance, hopefully he's switched over soon enough to sort that out

Hmmm.... a few lads I know train at the local Thai gym and they never tuck their elbows in.

Maybe because they want to use their elbows to attack rather than just defend?

I agree with Bellew though he needs a new trainer.... Brian Hughes goes on holiday too much, at the wrong time.

:thumbsup Me too. The most impressive thing about Quiggs performance was the way he listened to his corner. Break before the 9th they told him to get on the front foot and push Reid back...he did it perfectly and got the stoppage (premature or otherwise...Reid didn't seem too pissed off)

He seems to be a good listener in his last fight he used the exact shot Hughes told him to use against Kostin and stopped him pretty much straight away. He needs to step up now hopefully we can see him out around Spring time for the British or Commonwealth.
