not being critical just a question why after 36 fights did he fight David Gemmell and George Westerman both making there pro debuts, looking at boxrec it doesn't look good i am sure there is much more too it, where they both great Am';s as i said not critical just stood out as unusual

To his credit he will fight anyone any night of the week for the NZ title. It looks like this was the case on these particular nights. Boxing is pretty small in NZ and looking at Chauncy anyone who does a bit of training would fancy their chances. Hence fights like these. So while I might bag him for not ramping up the quality of opposition he is VERY good for NZ boxing. He has made the NZ title his own and will give anyone who wants a go a chance to take it.

So it is not good for his boxing resume but I am definitely a fan with regards to how he conducts himself in regards to the NZ title.

Those fights were not NZ title defenses bopper. I get your sarcasm, and haha, but I haven't fought the top guys you and the public want because they have not agreed to fight me. This is another case of trying to get a bigger fight. Can't fight 'em if they wont sign. We offer lots of the top guys the fight I had in May but nobody would agree and that was decent money.

As far as fighting those 2 fighters, they were last minute fill ins. Gemmell was a NZ arm wrestling champion just brought in because he thought he could win and help bring headlines. Though not to sell him off as better, Westerman actually had an 0-2 record and for some reason these other 2 fights were taken off of boxrec earlier this year. Not sure why. These were 2 very easy fights as you can tell from the result, but in 4 and 6 round clubshows, the money wasn't big enough to even get a tough NZ opponent.

And thanks everyone who is supportive of my quest to fight the best. Anybody who knows boxing knows I gotta step it up, and this s my chance. If I fight Tua nobody can say I duck the best from here on out. ;-)
    Thanks

Tua is a big step up, but a necessary one.
He's going to be a huge favorite, especially if the fight lands in NZ, but I will be ready.

What about the Iron Rino, Micheal Kirby? He threw down the gauntlet and you chose to get into a war of words, over an internet forum, with him and then fight débutantes.

Good luck with it Chauncy. Just as Tua found out, it can all come undone with one punch in the heavies. Hope you get the Tua fight.

I'm down and always have been. Kirby will fight, but only in Aussie in a non title fight. Sounds like the same deal Travis Walker got.:roll::yep

Travis' fight was non-title because the WBO wouldn't sanction it. No other reason.
