Angulo has been on a tear here lately...but is it all smoke & mirrors? I wonder how he would fare in a rematch with Cintron? This fight isn't in the cards right now but I'm sure somewhere in the back of Angulo's mind he would like to redeem himself.
Cintron can hurt Angulo. That's why Angulo could'nt really apply pressure to Kermit. But he will still improve.
:nonoNo i dont buy that and usually i dont go for excuses made by fighters but it was apparent Angulo wasnt himself that day. I truly believe he was sick in that fight, as it was even a sick Angulo gave him a very close fight. Angulo has improved and there in no doubt in my mind that he would knockout Cintron in a rematch. Only way he doesnt is if Cintron dives out the ring again.
That's like saying Ortiz beats Maidana in a rematch. Come on man, Angulo does the same thing every night, Cintron can box and will school him again.
Yeah, he could beat him in a rematch. In the first fight, it was a combination of Cintron fighting the right fight and Angulo had an off night, things can change next time or Kermit can simply fly out the ring. HBO stated, prior to the fight starting, that Angulo missed the final press conference. Later it was noted that he was sick and that was the reason he missed the press conf. Based on his performance that night, I'd say that looked to be the case.
Ortiz can and will beat Maidana in a rematch...he got dragged into a brawl the first time, he'll be smarter now But yea, Cintron still whoops Angulo's ass tho
Angulo like Cintron has improved greatly since his loss. He was a slow starter, he doesnt do that anymore. He starts putting pressure from the 1rst round and on. He also cuts the ring off and fights much more aggressively. Especially on clinches now, which has kinda become a trademark of his, he don't let anyone clinch him and makes them pay for doing so. Cintron as big puncher as he is never had Angulo in trouble, while Angulo had Cintron in trouble in the last round of the fight. I think Cintron obviously is the faster of the 2, and might win the first rounds at a distance, but I think Angulo will fight more aggressive this time and close the gap between him and Cintron and Cintron is known to struggle on the inside. Cintron looks like he gases after the 5-6 rounds. I like Angulo's chances the second time around. I think El Perro will love to go toe to toe with The Killer.
Cintron is a guy with many flaws and seemingly was free of them that night unfortunatley he is usually a head case Unless Cintron can box 10 to 12 solid rounds something he doesnt do often he can lose its not like he dominated the first fight and he looked fatigued later on
I really do feel Angulo was not the same dude we saw against Cintron. This rematch should happen. I mean no top level fighter in 154 while give Cintron a fight, after that frog jump through the ropes. Nobady takes him serious. Cintron is the only blemish on Angulo's record so I know El Perro want to erase that. No better way than fighting Cintron in a rematch. Angulo will beat him this time. Angulo might not be fast or have the skills like Kermit but he has timing and that chin!
If Ortiz improved something ever since they met, maybe. But that hasn't happened, the rights are still landing flush even in the Campbell fight in which he won easily, Ortiz by running very ugly can't win a fight against Maidana.
