WTF. When was Angulo hurt against Cintron? If anything, that fight proved that Angulo could take a shot. You make it seem like it was a massacre. It was a close fight.

Cotto is a much better boxer than Cintron, but as much of a maricon Cintron is, he is still also bigger and stronger than Cotto, thus he was able to keep Angulo off him...Cotto, at 154 is too small to keep the bigger, stronger and relentless Angulo off him IMO...Some good early rounds for Cotto before he is stopped late by Angulos pressure.

In round 4 or 5 I believe. Well, maybe "hurt" is a bit strong but he was definitely a little shook up which was evidenced by him going backwards for 10-20 seconds. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't feel the punches.

But yes, he has an excellent chin (though not Margarito level, AA can be hurt) and yes, he recovered well. As for the match-up, I'll go with the consensus and say that Angulo will stop him late while behind on points. Cotto is not a mover and wasn't effective on the move against Clottey, Margo and Pac. Against Mosley it was so-so. I think it all comed down to Angulos chin and ability to cut off the ring sufficiently. If he can cut off ring ring and take Cotto's best - he will stop him. However, judging by the Cintron fight he actually looked woefully inept at doing that. As underrated as Cintron is (a bit) he still hasn't got a movement pattern that is terribly hard to pin down. Still, Angulo loooked clueless. Can he make it a war, make Cotto trade? And for gods sake, he must start quicker if he want his work to pay dividends! He looked strangely off and lethargic the first half of the fight vs Cintron. Oh well, I guess his latest showings suggest otherwise... He needs that Margarito fire, that relentless pressure that Cotto hates.

50-50 for me after some thought and I might change my pick. Angulo is no 2008 Margarito - Margo has more variety, even more volume, a better chin and a better ability to cut off the ring - but he punches harder, so that might compensate. And I can't help but feel that Cotto will mentally back down when it gets tough. Vs moderately-punching Clottey that worked - it won't work this time.

Angulo looks good against people who present no threat to him or have no skills. We all saw what happen when he fought Cintron !!! Angulo is a poor man version of Margarito and any of the top 154lbs people will beat him like Martinez, Williams, and Cotto. I believe he would give Cotto hell just because he has a similar style like Margarito but I think Cotto can pull it off because I believe the win over Foreman gave him his confident back and especially he has a Emmanuel Stewart as his trainer.

Angulo was sick in the Cintron match. In reality though Margarito still stopped him twice and Angulo couldn't beat him.

He was a good champion, but never great. I still to this day don't understand why people say he was great.

No. I forgot where I read a quote from Cintron in which he said, "Margarito isn't really a big puncher..." Keep in mind, this is after he and Margarito fought for the second time, and this was way before the hand wrapping incident. I wish I had saved that article.

Were you here for the pre-Cotto vs Margarito fight? The majority of the PR's were trash talking Margarito and saying he was a bum. After the fight, those same PR's were on here saying Cotto was still the better fighter and wouldn't acknowledge that he quit in that fight.

Sorry, but Angulo isn't a bum and he'll stop Cotto. Cotto is done. Jump on the JML bandwagon cause the Cotto wagon is being held together by duct tape and chewing gum. It's bound to fall apart any minute.
