It was obvious to everyone that Briggs was in no shape to fight .Fenech (who I have no time for) saw it and walked away.

Billy H and others around Briggs saw his training day in day out. Now stories come out he was vomiting after sparring sessions and kept forgetting what gym he was training at.

How the hell do they let this go on? I know people on here are somewhat close to Billy and I know Team Huessein posts here from time to time. I want to know how they let Briggs go in their risking his ass when they knew he was in no shape physically or mentally to fight ANYONE let alone Green.

Danny Green, Angelo Hyder and Green Machine Promotions are absolute dogs - not even canines for even negotiating a fight with a guy who had rumoured neurological problems and hadn't fought for 3 and a half years so they take responsibility as well.

But I would absolutely LOVE to know what was going on in the minds of Billy H and those around Briggs in the weeks and days leading about to the fight. Talk about leading a lamb to a slaughter.

Marcus I have been reading your posts about everything related to this and I am not sure why maybe Danny Green is your cousin or something but you seem hell bent on sticking up for him at every turn.

Briggs said this, Briggs said that.

I dont think there is one person in anyway involved in Australian boxing who didnt have SOME idea that Briggs was having problems when he retired. But Marcus even if you want to take away these problems that fact is Green went in to negotiations with a guy who had not fought in over 3 years and gave him 2 months to get ready.

You get what you ask for when you negotiate a fight with a guy that has rumoured neurological problems and hasn't fought in over 3 years. Danny Green got exactly what he was looking for Wednesday night and he can jump up and scream and put on all the little shows he wants fact is the heat will die down, Green will get paid for his EASY nights work and it will be on to the next one.

Green is one more bad fight away from being on Mundines level.

If he fights another old/****/not up to class fighter ill never be a fan of his again and ill post exactly that.

But nobody forced Briggs to fight, Briggs saw the chance of easy money and took a dive imo. If thats proven wrong in the future ill admit i was wrong. I never have a problem admitting being wrong because nobody is perfect.

Green didnt know how his training was going. If people around Briggs cared about him they would have not let him fight. I agree everyone knew he was having problems, but the man himself said that was all bull**** and he was strong and ready to fight. Saying he wasnt scared of Green and would KO him.

Do you think Green really wanted a 30 second fight?

daz i dont understand why dannys a **** for briggs taking a dive. briggs needed the cash and bluffed his way into the ring took a dive clearly his team should of known he wasnt right so they r obligated to not let him fight not Danny.. Danny was getting told briggs is training hard and hitting hard so watch out.

I dont think Danny was looking for a 30 second fight no. I do believe undoubtedly he was looking for another easy easy payday.

I agree that no one forced Paul to do anything. Paul obviously has a share in the blame in this as well. But I strongly believe Danny Green, Hyder and the Green Machine team have a big share of responsibility in what happened. End of the day while they didnt force Paul to do anything, they DID negotiate and create a fight with a guy who as I said was known to be having issues with his physical and mental health and a guy who had not fought for over 3 years. When you negotiate with someone like this you take blame in what ever happens.

Let's just say Paul did take a dive and how was Danny to know therefore to blame? As I keep saying when you negotiate with a guy thats been having all these serious problems and who has been very inactive in my opinion you take blame in WHATEVER happens in the ring. Until I get different information I can only go off what I see. Its just my opinion however.

Good comments boys, Daz & Marcus both raising some great points.

Either way you look at it i think Green's team cant fight any more of these retired/semi retired boxers. He will need to step it up bigtime.

briggs and tarver needs to look in the mirror and ask themselves what happened.
100% that if he wasn't right mentally they should have pulled the fight.

How does Danny Green seriously look himself in the mirror then continue to drum up media support about how tough Paul Briggs was going to be.

it was tripe to begin with

Green is the promoter of the fight it is his fault, NSW commission even gave him away out of the fight, Green and WA commission need to be punished for hurting this sport so bad.

I even heard Andy Raymond on Fox Sports last night say we need a national commission to oversee all boxing fights.
Some of us have been saying this for years.

WA commission must be held accountable as they are a complete shambles.
