yeah dressed to the nineties as they say it says in todays newsletter that frankie gavin is fighting michael kelly for the irish lightwelter on that big bill in birmingham:deal
waldron will fight sweeney in the autume not the fall , we are in ireland arent we,sweeney has the contract , fact, puca, just wait and see bout fitz .he is as good potentially as any middleweight out there ,hes really buzzing and hes only young and learning every day. fact. pucker ,and the rest of the bill gives our fighters an advantage ovor their opponants in the sense that the boys and girls are building their careers and of course we dont want them losing and we dont want them fighting bums either so its a fine line .and a fight top the bill casey and salvini .top class fight. fact , dolphil are doing there best with limited resourses ,no television .not much goodwill from the media while still putting on good shows and producing quality fighters . fact.
What is the craic with this Newsletter? Is it just out on a Friday? And is it available outside the six counties, ie Scotland?
Does anyone know what the story is with Andy Lee i heard hes coming back next friday in a stay busy fight. Is he trying to set up any big matches over in the states to put him into title contention?
its only sold in the north... and mostly in unionist or mixed areas... i live in west belfast, and have had to order it for fridays as my corner shop doesnt stock it... but it does a two to three page spread on boxing which is well worth a read:deal
Surely Big Bang is the lb for lb hardest hitter in Irish boxing at the moment. On a separate note - Lee V Chavez Jr anyone?
just saw golden boy have a deal for a minimum of 12 fights a year at a venue in new york starting in 2012. pity its not around now. this would be ideal for Jamie Kavanagh to build up a fan base in New York
lol his career has flopped and i can't understand why meanwhile jacobs, who was supposed to be lee's opposite number in years to come, is passing every test with flying colours i also don't get why paddy b is still amateur. i do understand wanting that olympic glory, but the boy could have made a tidy sum and be well on his way in the pro game by the time the 2012 games are over
Also, Lee's opponent is ranked at heavyweight. How exactly is he going to make it to 160 in time for next Friday? It's an odd, odd choice of opponent.
Obviously a fight against a 3-4 opponent wont do much for his career lol but Lee and Emannuel Steward both said they wanted to get him some big fights in the states after his last fight in Ireland
