ESPN2 Friday Night Fights: Beibut Shumenov vs. Viacheslav Uzelkov RBR

Round 9

Uzelkov is still shoring up his offense and trying to get in on Shumenov without having to worry about punching with Shumenov. Uzelkov does dab at his body with a stray hook. Shumenov otherwise circles and jabs, throws lead rights, and even catches Uzelkov with an uppercut on the way in. Uzelkov again lands a solitary right hand as earlier while Shumenov is leaning the other way, but again it lacks much steam. He'd much rather land a hook.

Uzelkov looks so tired. So does shumenov but he's still throwing. His shots sound loud as he'll live.

 

"yeah, he throws punches. That is attractive"

 

Im impressed with Shumenov's stamina.

Especially with not a lot of rounds under his belt and looking so completely gassed in the 2nd half of his last fight.

Round 10

Biggest action so far is Beibut's mouthpeice falling out from breathing out durring a punch. Nothing new in this round.

Round 10

Shumenov has his mouthpiece replaced. He comes back and begins to push Uzelkov back across the ring with his jab. Uzelkov then turns the pressure back on him except he isn't punching. Shumenov ducks in with a body jab and then retreats to the outside. Uzelkov slips under a jab but doesn't punch for the moment of opportunity he has on the inside. Shumenov sticks a jab that gets caught in the neck of Uzelkov as he tilts his head down to his shoulder; Shumenov whacks him with the free right hand. They fall into a clinch after a Shumenov jab as Uzelkov attempts to block it; both are finally looking tired.

 

Wow. Classic Teddy. "Ya need those bunny jumps, in ya hands."

Round 11

Beibut going in for the ko, Landing big shots. Uzlekov looks like there is nothing left in his tank offensively. Another round to beibut.

Round 11

Shumenov comes out like a beast, wailing on Uzelkov and backing him into a corner. Uzelkov looks fine as Shumenov winds down. Uzelkov complains of a rabbit punch after they get back to open water. Uzelkov throws a 1-2 like molasses and Shumenov steps away in leisurely fashion. They clinch up and walk each other around the ring. Shumenov pops Uzelkov with a short uppercut to the chin on the break. Uzelkov crouches and lunges in with a body jab but falls short. Shumenov skids along the ropes as Uzelkov comes at him; a left hook to the body lands for Uzelkov but the follow up right to the chin is slipped. Uzelkov is trying to work his way in behind a jab this round, finally. He seems unsure of exactly how to do so.
