lol I remember watching this when that fight happened. Vitali is awesome.

Alot of older time fighters used to train outdoors like this chopping wood, running with logs etc.

Any word yet on if he's going to fight Briggs, or is that @#%$#$# Valeuv finally going to take the fight?

Why can't Vitali keep his feet straight even while he's running? He's always had that awkward pose that I just can't get into. : /

    From the scene

Contrary to some of the inaccurate reports floating around, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko said there has been some progress in the last few days with making a fight in October against ex-champion Nikolai Valuev. The two heavyweights exchanged insults in the press earlier this week. Klitschko said if the Valuev fight is not signed soon, Shannon Briggs could become a possible option.

"The contract to fight Valuev has not been signed as of yet, but recently Nicholas has made some effort to ensure that my meeting with him in the ring will actually take place," Klitschko told Bleek. "I guess the specifics of this matter will be further discussed in the next few days."

I guess we will know more in the next one or two weeks.

    Thank you for the info.

Great to hear that Briggs is far from probably, and mere*could become a possible option*, but Valeuv vs Vitali, the fight most want to see, seems to be making progess and seems pretty likely to happen, afterall.

    :good

Say what negative things you will about Valuev (myself included), but less than impressive power aside, he is a decent boxer, has a great jab, GREAT stamina for someone so massive, and seems to genuinely accept his losses in true sportsmanlike fashion. At least the ones I saw him comment on, anyway. Seems like a real gentleman and good guy.

He and Vitali will need a reinforced ring, though, as that'll be somewhere around 575 pounds in there.
