When was Jones Jr considered Shot?

Who cares, he is a cherry picking glass jawed hype job that was exposed by B level fighters in his prime.

Even Griffin, a C level gate keeper out boxed him and beat him.

 

He was clearly very faded in the first Tarver fight, let alone the Calzaghe fight. I still considered him a very good fighter capable of embarrassing okay level opposition (though not anything near what he was, obviously) until Danny Green. Now I don't know if he can even be that. He probably has a fork in him. ...I think he's finally all the way done.

 

I consider him shot after the second fight with Tarver.

I'd say after the Glen Johnson fight. He just didn't have an answer for Johnson's chin and pressure. In the 2nd Tarver fight, Jones was working him pretty good until he got caught, which made the win look it could've been a fluke.

 

I think the Glen Johnson fight was where it became "for sure" that Roy was shot. I mean Glen made a straight line for him right from the bell and just pummeled him the rest of the way. Roy had moments, but there was a lot of covering up against the ropes being unable to counter off of them.

 

Yeah that's what I was remembering too. The second fight was shaping up to be a war then Jones got caught. After facing Tarver the second time RJJ only looked good against guys more shot than him(Lacy and Trinidad) or opposition that didn't put up much of a fight that he could outwork with his still very fast handspeed.

Jones was as meek as a lamb in that fight and wouldn't let his hands go. What's he done since? "Decisioned" Trinidad? Give me a break lol.

He simply didn't train hard for Johnson who almost killed him.

Tough to say an exact moment. Around the time he came back down to Light Heavyweight after Ruiz he had clearly lost a step. Still wouldn't have predicted him getting starched in the Tarver rematch in two rounds.

 

About 1/10 of a second before his face hit the mat against Tarver. that scene is truly a "KTFO" moment.

 

Glenn Johnson should have been his bow out.
