Wow, I'm surprised this is so even.

The only thing Oscar has over Floyd, is his resume. He faced guys who Floyd wouldn't even thinking of facing if he was around that time, but at the same time he did lose to all of them.

Floyd, despite not fighting the best, is at least undefeated (which should be considered in this arguement); therefore he should be ahead on the ATG list.

Just a quick thought though....if Oscar was in his prime, would he have beaten Floyd? I think yes

Put it this way. Take DLH's comp and place Mayweather against it. Mayweather has some losses.
Do the same with Mayweather's comp and put DLH against them. DLH would be undefeated and have the quicker ko's on all of them.

 

Floyd, by a mile and plus he whipped De La Hoya in a head to head meeting at a higher weight. Floyd for the most past in the 2000's and even now by some media outlets is P4P number #1. De La Hoya, I don't recalled ever was p4p number 1. Also, DeLa hoya "ducked very good fighters like Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright.

Do some research dude. DLH became p4p#1 when he beat Whitaker. That was a good win that Floyd had but not great. Vernon Forrest was climbing welter ranks when DLH was there. DLH fought all the stars in his division. Forrest was making noise when DLH left the division not while he was in it. Wright, okay, maybe that's a duck. But DLH did offer him the fight once and Winky didn't take it. However, Winky is constantly bitching and thinking he's a bigger star than he is, so its natural that in his head he was ducked.

 

As I've said before. Marquez, Hatton, Baldomir, an old Mosley would have been ko's on DLH's record. And the names would fade into the background of his resume.

 

PBF wins. He's more skilled and holds a H2H win over Oscar in a weight class he had no business in. Oscar gets way too much credit for his resume, a resume in which he lost most of his big fights. If level of resume is so great when it includes losses then Zab Judah should be a ATG by that logic and so should Gatti.
