He won WBO 21 defences, WBC WBA IBF RING SMW TITLES AND THE RING LHW TITLE. 46-0 with 24 title fights so I think he accomplished something dont you?

 

His resume is just not that good. How can he be considered a legend? Who cares if he retired undefeated? Sven Ottke did too. Does that make him a legend?

 

Who didnt Calzaghe fight at 168lbs that was willing to fight him?
Yes Ottke is a legend also WBA/IBF champ, 21 defences and beat many top SMWs, just didnt do as much as Calzaghe who also beat many top SMWs WBO WBC WBA IBF RING SMW champ 21 defences. Look at the names on the records of both these guys

 

I'll always disagree.

I think this stoppage was quite similar to Mitchell v Katsiedis a few weeks ago. Mitchell was taking a lot of shots and Dave Parris was waiting for a big shot. Byron wasnt as hurt as Kevin and they where both swinging 'punches' but still, I think these two stoppages are quite similar for a supposed biased referee.

Calzaghe vs. Froch would have been a really good fight, but it wouldn't have had much significance at the time. If it had happened after the Taylor and Dirrell fights, it would have been worth taking for Joe, with Froch's name out there and everything. At the time though, Calzaghe would have been criticized for fighting at home against another unknown British fighter.

Still would've been fun to watch though.

It was a great nite of boxing when he schooled Lacy. He took him to the slaughter house demonstrated that he is a world class boxer, of the highest degree..

thats the bottom line when it comes to froch v calzaghe. when it could have happenned, calzaghe would have been criticized for takin the fight with everyone accusing froch as being an unproven eurobum.

would have been a good fight but i genuinely don't see anyway froch would have beaten calzaghe.
