Vlad is fighting at his peak right now, still getting better every time out.

Yes this shows how great this Champion is. He learns from his false (in a very hard way). He is working with Emanuel Steward and he is getting better from fight to fight. Works hard on himself.

    Great personality.

I think that now is the peak version of Wladimir KlitschKO. It is not a coincidence that Haye and Povetkin openly refuse to fight him.

He doesn't seem to gas as easily anymore through better pacing, training, conditioning and nutrition. I think this version of Wlad would have handed his own self of 2002/2003 a terrible beating.

Just because a fighter learned how to go without losing for while doesn't mean they're in their prime. You have to factor in the opponents faced at the time, the style the fighter and his opponents fought with, the kind of decisive wins he got, the general fighting age, and more.

I think W.Klitschko was at his peak earlier -- before Steward came along. 2004 and prior was his peak in my opinion. He was a beast. Had size and skills, along with a killer instinct.

Wladimir Klitschko was born in 1976. He was young when he faced Ross Purrity, but he was in his late twenties when he lost to Sanders and Brewster. At that time he had a LOT of fights and experience to go along with it. He was an exciting fighter who destroyed his opponents every time out. That was Pre-2004 WK. That was his prime.

To me, WK can still be that exciting fighter he used to be. Instead he opts to safely and delicately box guys who have no business in the ring with him in the first place. We haven't seen WK fight a guy that has a combination of height, speed, and explosiveness since Sanders. And we never will again.

His opponents are either too small, too slow, too green or a combination of all of the above now.

He seems like a naturally fit guy and is really well conditioned so I can't see him losing his physicality for a year or two.

Now. He's at his technical peak anyway.

I think this is a great answer and I agree wholeheartedly. It's a good point to draw the distinction between his physical and technical primes.

My Favorite Klitschko fight! I became a boxing fan by watching that fight. He was only focused on offense... he was becoming cautious in his next fight with McCline and... we all know what happened after McCline. I think he his in is peak right now.
