lamotta was a beast, i have him rated as my #10 MW and he could certainly beat floyd at 160. Floyd would just be physically overwhelmed by him, he isn't like the other pressure fighters floyd has seen before. this guy eats shots like dinner and never stops coming forward. That's just my take.
This thread should be burned into the ground. So much ******ed **** for a boxing forum to allow to be seen.
Possibly. We are just talking hypothetically and I actually respect your opinion Swarmer. IMHO I just feel that against modern era fighters with his speed attributes he kept his lead hand way too low. I see it going a lot like Vargas/Mosley with a stoppage. He would just be too easy to hit with a lead right. AT THE SAME SIZE!!!! At 160 I just see Mayweather turning him landing jabs and lead rights.
Mayweather wins, but stopping? Come on, Lamotta being stopped by Mayweather? Is that the best you can do in dissecting a fight?
why are people goin on about a swarmer like lamotta having to knockout floyd to win? that's what he was, a swarmer, just like castillo was, but a more aggressive, stronger, iron chinned swarmer and many swarmers aren't ko artists. sure, floyd is like a sniper who hardly misses and would land on lamotta many times, but if lamotta would keep charging and not let floyd get in his comfort zone and make him work more than he is used to, lamotta, like castillo, would make floyd tire eventually into the second half of the fight. this isn't rocket science people. no one and i mean absolutely no one including floyd is unbeatable or hasn't been beaten.
Is may at 160 for this or welter? I could see PBF outpointing the guy and using his legs to get away but even then i dunno man. in his prime lamotta had pretty good head movement and as a windmill style swarmer. dude also goes to the body pretty well. Lamotta isn't one of those fighters who floyd can really dance and counter away from for 12. this guy is more than willing to eat counters to land his bombs. his punches will hit. and at 160 floyd would be taking multiple punches from a guy far far out of his original weight range, he's not as mobile at higher weights to boot. I just see jake wearing him down over 12, and koing him. it would be REALLY hard for floyd to discourage him, the guy was only knocked down once in his whole career. exactly, this is like the worst matchup for floyd ever, lamotta is like castillo times ten in terms of ability, aggression, and chin. and floyd would be severely handicapped in the physical sense. he would honestly beat floyd up. As for SRL-FMJ, i see this going down like Benitez-Leonard in a lot of ways. FMJ gives him a good go around, and maybe goes 12 but eventually gets overwhelmed by activity. Leonard at 147 in his prime is incredibly hard to beat.
holy **** i'm reading back through this and we're actually comparing srr in his prime at welter versus fmj? this is beyond ******ation
It is the biggest possible fight in the sport. Regardless of who you want to win or who you think will win and how. It is the biggest possible fight in the sport.
It's utterly pointless. All you have are delusional fans from both sides saying the other side is wrong.
