    I'm sure the vast majority of them came in the olden days, when it wasn't too uncommon for people to die playing sports generally just because there wasn't adequate medical care.

    Right. Strangely, that doesn't seem like that many people for such a dangerous sport. We are talking about around 100 years of boxing, spanning the entire globe. Meaning that is about 6 deaths a year for the past hundred years. And those 6 deaths span 7 continents and are out of thousands of participants a year.

    I knew it was some really high number. This is over a long period of time though. I wonder how many per year in the last 20 years.
