he deserves credit, oscar cherry picked him and was heavily favoured so pac deserves credit for stepping up and take the fight against all odds. The fact that oscar showed up like a corpse takes the shine out of is victory because everyone thinks oscar would have been beat by anyone that night. But you don't need tot take anything away from pac.

He deserves credit...jumping up two weight classes, etc. But the only reason he was in the ring that night with Oscar was because of Roach. Roach knew Oscar hadn't been at that weight in years, he knew what Oscar was capable of as he trained him for the Mayweather bout. Pacquiao gets credit because it was still a massive risk in jumping up in weight because it wasn't a guarantee Oscar would be weight drained.
No-one gave Pacquiao a chance before hand and thats why I think Pacquiao can get too much credit for this win...I think I had Oscar as the slight favourite in this bout before-hand, until I seen him at the weigh-in...

Funny thing in ESB is that

    before the fight...

PAC fans were rediculed, made fun of! for believing he could upset ODLH!

After the FIGHT.. and PAC toyed with ODLH................

what did I hear in ESB after the fight "ODLH was shot!"

DAMN! a lot of fans eat their crow!

Well,at the time when the Pac vs Oscar fight was being talked about,i remember people saying that Oscar was this and Oscar was that for not taking the fight with Margo after Margo beat Cotto.

But as i said all along,De La Hoya took the tougher opponent style wise in Pacquiao.

Think about it,,,between the two fighters Margo and Manny, you have one guy that doesn't box very well,is real strong but is also slow with his punches and with his foot work in Margo.
Then you have the other guy who is one of if not the fastest fighter in the sport with his hands and feet, southpaw and Oscar had to come down to a weight he hadn't fought at in 7or8 years to fight him.

If Oscar would have taken the Margo fight,Oscar could have proposed a 154lb fight. At the time,Margo himself was having some trouble making 147lbs.The fight with Margo probably would have been at 154lbs and that would have been alot better for Oscar at that stage of his career.

I give Pacquiao credit for taking the fight with Oscar.

It's hard to give Manny full credit for the win.

It's not Pacquiao's fault for the way Oscar came into the fight but even still,as we all know Oscar was the walking dead that night and Roach new something having trained him first hand.

Even when I'm bigging up Pac resume I leave the ODH fight out of it as it was at a completely unreasonable weight.

ODH, at that age was a fool to drop down so far.

I said that at the time and still do now.

Nobody knew Oscar would step in the ring at a weight he hasn't seen since 19.

I would say, the credit manny deserves is less.

but don't say he cherry picked oscar. nobody knew oscar was going to screw himself up bigtime.

    Indeed;:good

We'd even be far kinder to Pac/Roach for fighting and beating Oscar if they had merely allowed him to Weigh-in at 147, and then rehydrate and replenish his body to his hearts content until fight night.
You know....the modern & normal way of doing things that is most fighters perogative.

But Oscar was denied that; Weigh in at 145 and fight at 147? WHAT? Give me a break, thats endangering Oscars health and well- being putting him in with the pfp1 in his Zombie state.

As interceptor says he hadnt been in the ring so light since he was a teen.

Oscars an idiot for agreeing to those terms and, one could argue, got what he deserved, but it was so stacked pro-Pac and Anti Oscar that im damned if i can give him credit for the fight or win.
