    So i asked Billy Nelson a few weeks ago if he could put some tickets aside for Burns Night as i will pick them up when am in Glasgow seeing ma bro. Fast forward a few weeks and am sitting in Billys house watching him do the hoovering before we head to Edinburgh as Burns n Simpson are gonna be sparring Arthur n Appleby.

    An hour later i find maself eating macdonalds of the roof of Billys (saying Mr Nelson is not permitted) merc, Burns is telling me how cool ghost tours are and Simpson is telling everyone that punctuality is important, all rather random :lol:

    10 mins later am in the Lochend gym surrounded by Former World Champs,Current Euro, British and Commonwealth champions and World Title Contenders (Sep 4th)

    Hard session over and its back to Glasgow where i find maself eating spagetti courtesy of Mrs Nelson as i show Billy the Lounge area of ESB :yep

    Barry Morrison, Ricky Burns and Mick Roberts (last years Scottish Amatuer Featherweight Champ,Pro debut in September) arrive and the gym starts buzzing.

    Anyways,i just cracked away with the camera then had a wee warm up and move also.....

    Canna be arsed uploading video footage, which far outweighs the pictures but will add some up later.

    Billy and Co = Pure Class....as was everyone at the Lochend gym :good

    rickys been training 4 weeks now and were going to start picking things up sparing wise.can't be happier with him though.

    Nice one Hairy. Great pics. I've been down to Billy's once and the guy's a real gentleman. I had chopped pork on toast which was a blast from the past thanks to Mrs Nelson. All the guys are class. When Ricky wins the WBO belt I can always say that he gave me a lift to a bus stop from the gym in his VW.

    (Got to watch him and Simpson spar too. Quality)

    Top thread, Hairy. Love stories such as this. Every single person there could have turned their nose up at you and claimed they had much better things to do, but it looks like they all went well out of their way to make you welcome. Billy comes across as a top fella on here and it seems he's actually even more of a top fella than I thought. Fair play to Billy, Mrs Nelson and the rest of the boys at the gym:good.

    :lol: I was thinking that when I saw the pic as well. Looks like he's not even paying attention:lol:.

    This is the type of pics i like in general and capturing one is pure chance.

    Got about 100-150 pics over the two sessions, just taking lots with no flash and without being obtrusive goes a long way.

    There was a dude from the Herald using the chuck away kodaks with a winder and monster flash cause he forgot his usual cameras :lol:

    Looking forward to Fridays sparring :good

    lol,john mcguiness is a brilliant man to have in the gym hes 78 years old and ive known him for about 23 years.john had a hip operation just a couple of months ago and couldn't wait to get back in the gym,to be fair every gym should have someone like john,i count myself very lucky hes in my gym!
