I am by no means fans of either of them and like most I find most of their fights esp. Wlad's pretty boring, but i don't understand how Wlad can not be seen as a dominant fighter who should make p4p lists and who could at his prime (which he might still be in) be a tough fight h2h for anybody...His consecutive defenses have been brought up and he has beat all contenders and given a chance to the other two 'contenders' who have simply decided to not fight him for the heavyweight championship of the world. Sort of impressive...I'm coming around to appreciating both klits and esp. Wlad's accomplishments.
Volodymyr did defend the WBO belt 5 times. Now i know some ppl ***** about the WBO but it was a legit belt in 2001 and he won it from Byrd, same as the IBF belt in 2005. I would count those defenses which would bump it up to 13. How come you left the WBO defenses out?
Completely agree. They're both top 10 p4p guys in my eyes. The donaire example is baffling really. Look how dominant Wlad has been in the last few years, while Nonito hasn't accomplished a whole lot. That sort of rating further encourages fighters not to go out and prove themselves imo.
I don't know. Maybe I left the WBO out because that belt sucked in 2001. Also because Lennox Lewis was the dominant heavyweight in that year. From 2006, Wlad has been the only top dog in the division.

They will be remembered better over time if you look at examples like Holmes and Lewis. You cant deny their dominance, even if it is a weak era. And there have been other shockingly bad eras in the heavyweight division. Depending on how Wlad does from now until the end of his career he'll be somewhere in the 10-15 bracket.
