Does anyone have any objective analysis as whether or not Hoya is wrong? Personally, I think think Cotto has had a tendency to rely too much on his left hook. However, he has gotten much better with his jab. He used more right hands in this fight, but still doesn't look totally comfortable throwing them. I think he's susceptable to uppercuts(Judah lit him up with a couple, Mosely cracked him with the 1 or 2 he actually threw), however he has done a good of taking the punch. As far as him not liking pressure, I don't know about that. I've watched alot of Cotto fights. Even in his early years he seemed to retreat sometimes for apparently no reason. Alot of the time he may have just been trying to lure in his opponent in an attempt to land that left hook to the body. Although Cotto isn't the most naturally gifted fighter, he's very smart, works to improve on his weaknesses, and really excells at what he does well.
Anybody can make the same remarks from a sideline. But when you're in the ring with Cotto, all that You can do this and that **** goes out the window. Like Tyson said "Everybody has a gameplan until they get hit"
Well....there you go. You pretty much summed it up. Cotto is quite cocky in his own way he like to dance a little and show people he can box on his toes. Cotto has many flaws though he's extremely adjustable and usually catches on to his mistakes during the fight....and ability that is rare in fighters of his caliber that sometimes feel they must over impress. Cotto's right hand is not the greatest but its solid. He was able to counter Sugar with it and even stun him at times, Cotto is a student of the game he's only going to get better. I hope.
I believe Oscar's assessment is partially correct, but I disagree with Cotto not liking pressure, as I feel it plays into his style. At the same time, this sounds like Oscar's attempt to hype up a possible fight with Cotto in the future, something that comes through in his "I would/wouldn't have done this" "If it had been me" comments.
Yeah right . . . Hoya's assesment? Big $$$$$$$$$$$$. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
Oscar just wants to be in the spot light especially after getting owned on Cinco de Mayweather.....he tried to fight Hatton drops down to welter now he tries and lure Cotto....what a schmuck!
Yeah those non impressive rights . . . This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
I knew Hoya wanted Cotto right away for finantial reasons and nothing more, but as far as to say that he notices vulnerabilities and can capitalize on them against the same, he's putting himself on the line for a humiliation. I have no doubts about it now, it's Cotto vs Hoya on May 3rd and Oscar is gonna try to take most advantage of his crowd and his charisma on judges in LV, NV most probably.
DLH is correct except that thing about Cotto's right hand. . . it found Shanes face pretty well and def got his attention.
DLH needs to get his ass wupped for talking like that. In fact I bet if Mosley heard those statements he'd do it himself for the 3rd time :yep
Styles make fights - I think DLH would have a good shot at outboxing Cotto. Some of you guys are acting like Cotto dominated Shane, it was a close fight.
