Please. Cotto even at 145 was a much, much more viable opponent than Marquez was, even at 140. And as for Clottey, he arguably beat Cotto in their fight and was the next best option at WW. Stop with the revisionist history.
i still favor pac (who grew into his size and brought the punch up) but marquez and his this performance earned a third
Please. You mean Miguel "The Marathon Runner" Cotto or Joshua "The human punching bag" Clottey. i don't think so. Yeah, so Clottey did beat Cotto in my eyes as well so what does that say about Cotto? Marquez is a master technical fighter & will go life & death in the ring. Those other two will just tap out & quit by running or just standing there blocking. Margarito also goes life & death but has no skills to go against Pac. He has the size advantage thats about it. :hi:
this. at 140 now??!! an old past his prime, and bloated marquez??! geez, some posters even believe that a marquez fight is a much more of a challenge at 140 than cotto and clottey at WW.
marquez isn't done yet... but nowhere near pac's level now. and yes, pac would be cherry picking if he fought jmm... and not only to *****s.
I have no time for this fight , Marquez is still pissed at not getting a decision over Pacquiao , and in his heart he beleives he's the best in the world P4P , you cant knock the guy , he's a true true warrior with world class ability a true credit to the sport :deal But its a no brainer , looking at the way Manny and Marquez have developed in the transition of moving of up in weight IMO Marquez is getting KO 'd ...........
Cotto was a great opponent for Pacquiao at Welter Weight. Maybe you don't like Cotto, thats fine, but he was one of the Welter Weight elites when Manny fought him. Also, what is with the marathon running comment? Is it because he boxed Mosley at the end of their match? Or because he tried to recover (unsuccessfully) in the Pacquiao match? Running away is far from being Cotto's MO... As for Clottey... Clottey was another very good (though not as good as Cotto) Welter Weight opponent who had given a lot of very good fighters a very hard time. Sure he was never able to go that extra little distance he needed in order to get the win, but he was still a top welter weight fighter. He simply did not have the style to compete with Pacquiao's work rate. Both were better opponents than Marquez would be in his current condition at 140...
I think Marquez deserves a third fight with Pac. I believe there first two fights could have gone either way, and a third would definetely end all discussion. However, Marquez is past his prime and at 140 Pac looks much stronger. So besides making a trilogy and getting a payday, I dont see Marquez benefiting from this fight so late in his career.
