I think Cotto starts strong and asserts his jab in Round 1. Pac, after feeling Cotto out in the first round, starts to display his hand speed in the 2nd round. I think Pac scores his first knockdown of Cotto in Round 3 with a right hook that Cotto does not see coming. Pac will knock Cotto down again in Round 4. After that, Cotto will retreat the rest of the fight as Pac hunts him down. I think the referee will stop the fight by the early 12th round. That's how I think this fight will go down.
Cotto is too strong for Pac at WW division. After Cotto delivers his killer body blows, Pac will cry "no mas!". Cotto by mid-round TKO.
Excellent observation there. Of course the Floyd fans will just forget what you said here but it is obvious who is biased and who is reasonable.
its interesting to read what people thought on this fight. Same with the Hatton fight and the ODLH fight, you can find similar threads to this. PAC deserves the credit he gets right now, because despite the criticism he gets for apparently cherry picking, these 3 were all very risky fights at the time.
I don't really think the 145 catchweight is a problem but making Miguel agree to a thirteenth round is a bit of a crazy demand from Pacquiao!
Thats what I think will happen aswell. In fact I can see the ref getting ready to stop the fight in the later rounds but pacquiao eases off as he wants to let Cotto finish the fight.
aww man, those were the days. i really thought pac would lose in this fight. cotto was much bigger and stronger and i thought pac's limit was at 140.
This was in January 2009 but when the fight was made and I took the time to watch and compare tapes, I said that Cotto had no chance. Pac vs JMM and Cotto vs Judah is what sold me.
