Speed, strength, these aren't the things you need!

  1. Have you noticed with Mayweather, that his rhythm is pretty much unreadable. He makes some great fighters like JMM and Mosley literally just stand there clueless as how to get to him.

But Pacquiaos beat very clear, it's one of the fastest and constant rhythms in recent memory that breaks down a fighter. Match up made in heaven if you ask me :yep

Nice posts Manassa. Glad someone pointed out that boxing isn't simply a speed and strength competion. Speed and strength are secondary to all those things you mentioned. But obviously maximizing your speed and strength on top of mastering all those skills you mentioned is where you want to be at at. But yeah, in gyms all across the world there are faster, stronger guys getting their asses handed to them in sparring by guys with a better grasp of those fundamenals you listed.

Refreshing. The sport is filled with goons who can think of nothing else than power.

"Power!! I need to be stronger!! Protein bars!! More protein!!! More power!!!!!"

    :yep

Skills should be your number one concern, unless you're Floyd ****ing Mayweather.

Same goes for pacquiao, good posture almost at all times when in the ring. i think mayweather tends to play about with posture a bit but straightens up when he needs to be landing a damaging shot with speed or for times when a wider variety of directions/movements are needed, ive also seen de la hoya do the same.

    Got to admit, good post.

Most people go the gym for real training so this is supplementation, but you are certainly correct.
