everybodys talking about alexander/kotelnik and cloud/johnson and rightfully so but wat about spinks/bundrage ? has everyone totally forgotten about this fight are hbo even televising it ? dont see why they'll only show 2 world title fights when they can show 3
Fight will not be Televised - but we may get Highlights of the fight. By the fight being pushed back so much - they're lucky to be on the card period. I think at one point they were slated for ESPN's Friday Night Fight - but Corey seemed to be having weight issues - which isn't good for him in this fight. Hope he has it all worked out - but that is suppose to be the reason why Kevin Cunningham quit on him. He came into camp far overweight - they say - Kevin took one look at him and was like - "I'm not doing this and turn his focus back to Alexander". Not looking all that good for Spinks. All of this on top of the DUI in Florida. Whew.
Cant wait. Ima going to use it to go to sleep and get ready for the next 2 fights.... Come on both fighters are very irrelevant now.
Id actually love to watch this fight but i doubt it will be shown. Maybe for good reason too as i dont think many fans and zero casuals will dig it. Hope spinks can win good though and start having top level fights again.
I think this is going to be a snooze fast. Bundrage: one shot and clinch, one shot and clinch, one shot and clinch; Spinks: One or two shots and move, one or two shots and move; All night long.
Nah, it won't be. From Rafael's Notebook: "In the televised opener, Tavoris Cloud (20-0, 18 KOs) makes the first defense of his light heavyweight belt against former champion Glen Johnson (50-13-2, 34 KOs). In another world title bout (although one that isn't part of the HBO telecast), St. Louis' Cory Spinks (37-5, 11 KOs) makes a mandatory defense of his junior middleweight title against Cornelius "K9" Bundrage (29-4, 17 KOs)."
It's a very important fight. Lots ofbignames at 154 now. It sucksSpinks pulled out 3 times and costed them some TVdates.
I have a morbid curiosity in this fight but understand why HBO isn't interested. There are two quality fights, so that's fine. I'm just glad they aren't doing the PPV replay and main event thing they usually do. Spinks is getting up there and has those well-documented issues with weight and other personal problems over the years. Hard to see him making any real noise in terms of big fights.
:yep i had the 'pleasure' of seeing Bundrage fight Grady Brewer in Providence, Rhode Island. Very boring, and Wally Matthews called it "a middleweight John Ruiz fight."
