That's right Margo wasted too much time in the early rounds. In the LATER ROUNDS Williams got tired and was being clobbered by Margo but it's too late.

Williams' long reach will work against him when he fights Cotto because 100% Cotto's gonna close that gap from the early rounds no matter what.

Mayweather has never seen anything like Williams. I'm not saying Williams is the greatest thing in the world, but he would be a stylistic NIGHTMARE for Mayweather. I don't think Mayweather could deal with this kind of fighter and would never fight him. He's too tall, too long armed and too active. Floyd is great, but he would lose this fight, IMO.

I give Cotto a better chance of beating Williams than Mayweather simple due to styles.

Maybe, but you have to also put it into perspective that Cotto is 5'7'' and Margarito is 5'11''.

Cotto also has better head movement than Margarito.

It's a little easier to get inside a 6'2'' guy's jab when you're short and move well compared to being tall and relatively stiff in comparison.

    Agree?

Well that's also the reason why I'm thinking Cotto will close that gap eassier than Margarito. He is just 5"7', with a lot of head movements and not an upright fighter.

It's Bull**** B/C Cotto is 5'7 with a 67 inch reach while margo is 5'11 with a 73 inch reach. So he does not cut off the ring better then margo against PW b/c he has more ground to cover. Use your brain son.

When Cotto plants his feet to punch, Williams takes one long lanky step back and is out of range. And with Cotto's lack of head movement he will be a sitting duck for PW's right hand coming from 82 inches away.

And Margo has a better chin then Cotto.

    hey caps.

i disagree, Cotto has more space to cover b/c of his height he also fights small and really has very little head movement. That is why he is a sucker for a right hand imo.

Yeah he's got more grounds to cover but have you ever considered the difference between their footworks? Have you ever though of how upright Marg is comapared to Cotto? You

on Margo having a better chin than Cotto but Cotto is not afraid to get hit and exerts double pressure than Margo.

It took Margo six rounds to figure out and start hurting Williams, it will take Cotto only 3 rounds.

Now . . you use your brain boii.

I'm also a WILLIAM FAN and MARG FAN DUDE . . . but I can always analize objectively even if it's against my fighter.

Cotto is faster on his feet than Margo and he can close that dstance in no time.

I agree with that assessment. Margo is known for walking through punches to land his own but the sheer amount Williams' was throwing threw off his rhythm and hence his lower than average punch count vs. Paul. If Cotto thinks he can just waltz in and attack his body I think he is in for a big surprise.

He was thrown off rythm because he got too cautious and he doesn't want to get hit early in the fight. That's gonna be the difference between the two.

But did you see what happened when Margo started to impose his will on the guy in the later rounds?

Williams looked like a ragdoll bending in all directions to avoid Margs on slaught. :D :yep

Yeah, but did you see the way he was landing that jab on Mosley?

And Mosley has very good movement.

Cotto will double it up to close the distance on Williams. He has a very underrated jab. Before watching the Mosley fight, I had no idea that it was that good, and I would have thought someone would be crazy if they told me that Cotto would win the jabbing contest.

Actually Margo has twice the chin of Cotto, he's never been wobbled or even stunned and he couldn't just walk in on Williams despite his reach and height. Moreover, Cotto is always wide open for a huge uppercut when he tries to bull his way in on people with his head down so I think Williams will tatoo him all night. He also fights flatfooted with little head movement. I mean when you look at it, who has ever had trouble hitting Cotto? It's not that Paul is a great talent it's just that his physical advantages are difficult to overcome coupled with the fact that he has enormous punch volume, solid chin and doesn't crumble under adversity and you have pretty good combination for defeating smaller opponents.

    Now that's a logical analysis . . . and I have nothing against that.

It's a 50/50 fight and it's not gonna be easy for both if it happens.

    :good

Yeah, but Cotto is so short, and Williams who already drops his hands when throwing an uppercut will be especially vulnerable because he will have to reach so far down to throw it, therefore exposing part of his body to a counter from Cotto.

why are we making it seem that cotto cant use his height as an advantage as well... it goes both ways... i know for sure if williams fights cotto in the inside, it will be a long night for him...cottos speed and chin is greatly underrated, just ask his last three opponents...

thats the thing though, Williams fights pretty damned good on the inside despite being a lanky freak of nature.
