How do you see this explosive match-up playing out? I believe chad would pervail in a war. Both are young exciting fighters w/ good boxing skills & decent power. I like this fight and think HBO should also.....thoughts??
everybody should wait Pascal/Dawson before talking about Pascal/somebody else or Dawson/somebody else.
Regardless of pascal dawson outcome, I feel it is a wise decision for chad to face cloud next. Maybe in his and my home-state od CT.
Chad Dawson is a solid fighter. As long as he stays focused (which has been pointed out in his fights) he will do fine. Styles make fights so it should be interesting against Pascale. Travis Cloud should have one or two more fights before going against Chad. Cloud has the tools but he is right there to get hit. Too inactive also in terms of being in the ring. He should have one more top 20 person he could look good against. He won last Saturday because unless Johnson knocked him out, there was no way Johnson was going to get a decision. Johnson clearly won a few rounds on activitiy, but it was Cloud's effective punching and the idea that a Cloud win would do more for boxing.
Where the hell does that come from? Who did Dawson call out that was lower than 168? It that something to criticize him about? Like there have been so many guys at 175 to call out in recent years LOL Dawson hasn't avoided anybody
I would Cloud to have a bit more rounds under his belt before he challenges a guy like Dawson but even if he gets them, i still see Dawson picking him apart, his speed and footwork would be too much imo.
Cloud ain't on the same level as Dawson. No matter what happens in the Pascal-Dawson fight, I still think Chad is a notch above the rest at 175lbs. In Dawson's case, it's always a matter of which Chad shows up in the ring...the complete package or the guy just trying to do enough.
i remember adamek stating after his loss to bad chad that dawson was just way quicker than he thought, and thus couldnt get off his punches. i see dawson doing the same to cloud, and frustrating him, possibly leading to a late tko, or a wide decision
Dawson not only technically better than Cloud, but if need be he can hurt Cloud pretty bad too. If Cloud decides to go headhunting all night long he's going to be hitting nothing but air and getting outpunched in the way. He's going to have to fight a Duran type fight of bobbing and weaving and then punching his way in to the body and then the head. I haven't seen this coming from Cloud yet. Dawson just dominated Johnson easily and Cloud won a very, very close fight with the same man. At this point Cloud gets humiliated easy and has the potential of getting ko'd himself. It would be an entertaining fight tho Cloud always comes to fight. Grrr...
