Does anyone know what Julius Francis is up to these days? I know he retired from boxing in 2006. He took, and lost, an MMA bout in September 2007. What's he been doing since then? How is his life after boxing?
I used to see Julius regularly at the Peacocks. But i havent been there in some time. Like everyone else here though he's a cracking fella despite his tough past.
Wasn't a very good pundit though. I remember him tipping someone to win a fight (might have been Bruno to beat Tyson) and his reasoning was something like "It's the way he talks".
Good video here, talking about his misspent youth [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7s-qEm8YIc[/ame] Always seemed like a nice guy, hope he invested the cash wisely...
If you're interested in Julius this interview shld be helpful. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOQFDihXxFg&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QHlaXlWaFs&feature=related[/ame]
I'll always remember him for 3 things: Bursting Pele Reid's bubble. Handing Danny Williams his arse Taking out sponsorship on the soles of his boots against Tyson :yep
Yep, I never met him but I never met anyone who had who ended up not thinking he was just a nice guy... By the way, whilst we're on the subject of mid - late 90s domestic heavyweights, whatever happened to Keith Long?
Funny you say that i was going through some of my old fights from the early 2000's and stumbled on Danny Williams vs Keith Long. Long was a gutsy fighter with a marauding style but he couldnt crack an egg.
i left school 3 years ago but he used to teach boxing at my school with wayne llewlyn and as far as i know they still do he was friendly and all the kids loved him it wasnt just my school he taught at i think he coached at a few and maybe had his oen gym with wayne
