    Cotto made a mistake here, but he had a right to. He's been taking on all comers for his whole career. Regardless, he missed the plane by not beating the kid down. It would have been an excellent feather in Cotto's cap and further enhance his legacy - which is all he should be fighting for at this point aside from a few more dollars.

    I think it wuld b a gd fyt for Cotto and it makes sense...better than fighting Jnr ofcos and in my opinion a safer fight

    Excellent post. Anyone who says Berto doesn't deserve a fight with Cotto is wrong. He's done more than Chavez jr or Yuri Foreman have done. Cotto-Berto is one of the best fights that could be made in the sport. Why anyone would be against it I have no idea?

    I don't think fans are against this fight. I think some Cotto fans just want to justify him not taking the fight. There's nothing to justify though. If Cotto and/or Top Rank don't want to make this fight, so be it. However, it seems apparent that Berto not being a Top Rank fighter is a primary reason this fight isn't being considered.
