Maybe an educated fan that knew wtf he is talking about could make a case that Joe Lewis was a better heavyweight. Your not the guy to make this argument. It seems you have a screw loose somewhere.

 

Yes,but Ali would have done such an intense psych job on Tyson,that he'd have had Tyson throwing temper tantrums at the weigh in,and as soon as the fight would begin. Ali knew the buttons to push on fragile characters such as Tyson,and if the fight ever reached the phase where they went into the trenches,only Ali would come out of there. Past form with both fighters illustrate this point,quite vividly.

 

Certainly a lack of in depth boxing knowledge,and a personal hatred of Ali clouding things.

He is a myth you dumb ****.He looked awesome punching up Reggie Gross's,fat ex champs and scared Lt Heavyweights but put him in against motivated,decent fighters and he looked decidedly mortal.

Quick Tillis was average yet took rounds off a prime Tyson.Bruno sucked but staggered prime Tyson.Bonecrusher Smith fought in survival mode but prime Tyson couldn't do squat with him.TNT Tucker was merely servicable as a fighter but he won rounds,landed good shots and was never in any trouble against prime Tyson.And most importantly Buster Douglas out boxed,out fought and emphatically knocked out prime Tyson.

Plus a past it Holyfield frightened the **** out of Tyson simply by not being in the slightest bit fazed by Mike or his arsehole managers Horne and Holloway jawing off and getting in his face pre-fight.Imagine what Ali,a man who feared no one,dealt severely with bullies and was a much better fighter and talker than Tyson would have done to him psychologically and physically:dead.

 

almost if not all serious boxing fans have ali at the very least in the top 10 of all time.it appears sir you have an axe to grind,most have the man in the top 3

 

As i said,a personal hatred of Ali is clouding your perspective on boxing matters. I've frequently found Tyson a Grade A arsehole,but it does n't stop me rating him in the bottom half of my list of all time heavyweights. Ali had a way to wind simpletons like Tyson up,far more than a bout of gonorhea could.

Ali came out boxing threw a punch and Liston fell down.Liston was the one who dogged it and Jersey Joe Walcott is the one who screwed up the count.Ali in no way,shape or form did anything other than what he was supposed to.It's not his fault that the other two men in the ring didn't do their jobs properly.

He fought the best he could in a great era and he came out on top against them all. Sort of like Leonard in the 1980's. I do believe the Ali of the 1960's would have outclassed them all in the 1970s.. He had diminished after his layoff in the late 1960's.
