Casamayor would have beaten Mayweather

:nono Yes Judah was undisputed at 147, but who did he beat to be in that position? Didn't that same fighter he beat come out in a thread not to long ago about not being HOF material, yet still be undisputed? Zab was a very good southpaw, but Floyd's win over him is getting too overrated. You want to know why? Because of his lack of high level competition, but that's a different thread. Casa had more skills than Corley or Judah combined and did have a chance of upsetting him at 135. Casa in his prime got beat by Castillo by a very slim margin, some say it could of been a draw (oh the irony, just like Castillo-Mayweather I) how would a prime Casa not be a worthy threat to Floyd? Prime Casa getting very overlooked in this thread.

Spot on Popkins. Zab and JLC both matched up better with PBF than Casa does.

 

at 130 i'd give casa a serious shot. he was the most skilled fighter near mayweathers weight. alot of caasamayor depreciation here or floyd getting too much appreciation.
if you where looking for a mayweather loss in the late 90's and early 2000's i would pick casa to have the most chance of an upset

cagey and elusive, tough ****er, had a good jaw, had a brilliant left cross which judah showed mayweather was open for....it's not as cut and dried.

 

I'm not saying he wouldn't be a worthy opponent. Casa is world class but he's going against a guy who's better than him in every department and who I think would outclass him because of it.

The Zab win gets props because it was a fight in which PBF didnt have his natural advantages and still found a way to beat Zab. Zab was faster than PBF and could beat him to the punch and counter him but PBF over came that to win. He didn't rely on pure speed, he relied on his boxing skills. PBF walked Zab down and broke him down over the course of the fight to win that's why Zab was seen as a stylistic nemesis to PBF and why the win is rated as a good win. Beating guys who have a stylistic advantage over you have to be looked at as good wins.

casa was always a very slick and intelligent fighter however, he cant hold Floyd's spitbucket.

i would love this match up but i dont think casa had the speed to win but his southpaw stance would give mayweather trouble
